Dan Vs. The Cast Interview · 1:34am Feb 9th, 2014

Greetings all! We're about halfway through episode 4 of Dan Vs. and I thought I'd take the opportunity to interview some of the cast here at Dan Vs. The Magic of Friendship. The technical problems we were having yesterday have been solved; we had an issue with Dan doing a zip line scene where he almost broke his ankle. Being the only human in Equestria(for now), he has to do his own stunts. He's okay though and we're releasing on time.

This is a huge endeavor with many parties involved, most importantly you, the audience. So, without further ado, here's what some the cast and staff think about the series so far:

Dan Vs. The Cast Interview

Queen Chrysalis aka 'Chrys'

How has it been working on the show?

It was surprising enough when Twilight allowed me to move into her home but then Dan? I was amazed the two lasted a moment together let alone as long as they have. Making this series has been really fun and it's given me an opportunity to... kind of, renew myself. I've never really had the chance to just be me before. And, after holding onto a vendetta for centuries... I'm still learning who I am. But Fluffle Puff and Twilight have been very helpful. And... so has Dan. He's a very passionate, even warm man once you get to know him. Not that I really know him, err, anything. Not yet anyways...

Twilight Sparkle

Well, to be honest I've enjoyed working on the show. I mean, it's different. Really different. But different in a GOOD way. I didn't really know what to do when Dan just collapsed in my living room so I just kinda went with it. That's kind of the way this series is; there's a lot of things you have to just go with because, well that's how they happen. But I do believe this show is going somewhere and... I'm happy to go with it.

Fluffle Puff

Pbbthh, pthhbbbd.(If I may say, it is an absolute privilege to work with such incredible talent. I am a mare of few words but I can say with the utmost certainty that I enjoy bringing our unique story to the citizens of Equestria. The way this story is written has allowed me to fully express my enthusiasm and curiosity, the foundations I believe for which intelligent life exists. As I grow and learn alongside all these wonderful characters, I take a small amount of pride and satisfaction in knowing the lessons we've learned have been preserved for all that they may be used in the future to inspire others to have a true zest for life no matter what kind of life they have. Our viewers all have so much to experience in their worlds, wherever they are and whoever their friends might be. I encourage anypony reading our adventures to live their lives to the fullest and if they take anything away from this story, and my performance in particular, it's that true happiness can be found anywhere. You just have to allow yourself to feel it.)

Dan

I was happy to be a part of the show when they asked me. Trying to teach ponies so they don't make the same mistakes humans have made? I'm completely on board with that. There are a lot of ways that Equestria and Earth are similar and sometimes they're TOO similar. When I first landed in Equestria, I was just excited there weren't any other humans around. I'd gone from falling out of a plane to land in... pretty much, heaven. But no matter what world, what dimension you're in, some things don't change. I'm trying to help Twilight and her friends so they don't make the same bad choices humans on Earth have made.

How has it been working with the staff?

Queen Chrysalis aka 'Chrys'

It's been good. I like the way Barro writes me and he's very open to suggestions. I even get to tell my own jokes so, that's definitely a plus. The music numbers have been really fun, too and I hope one day they might get sung by some lucky pony. OH and I really loved the impressions scene in episode 3; that's my fav so far! I'm actually thinking about maybe becoming an impressiomedian if things worked out. Hooves crossed!

Twilight Sparkle

I've actually worked with Barro before but never in something as big as this. I worry about it being too big an undertaking sometimes but Barro seems to know what he's doing. I enjoy the way he writes me because it really seems like he can understand what I'm feeling. Maybe we're a bit alike, I don't know. It's nice knowing there are other ponies like me out there.

Barro does have some... interesting... friends, though. Michael Hay is a very... unique pony. He makes a lot of suggestions that, well, are a bit... extravagant. His ideas tend to involve... explosions. It wouldn't really be a concern but he's been trying to work them in just about every other scene. We have a pretty good budget on special effects but at the rate he's using them we might actually run out before the series is even half-way done.

Fluffle Puff

Pbbbbthd, Bthhpppbbd. (This is my first time working with Barro and Mr. Hay though they seem to have a very interesting working relationship. Barro reminds me a lot of Twilight Sparkle and her friend Rarity; he's very concerned a lot of times, has a tendency to get nervous and try to do things cautiously but at the same time, he expresses a great deal of interest and enthusiasm in doing things a certain way, with style. He seems to want to execute his vision with an amount of class, precision. I can admire him for that but if he focuses too much on how to do something, he can forget why he's doing it at all.

This is where Michael Hay comes in. Our director, Mr. Hay, is a extremely unorthodox. His methods are unconventional and without Barro's storyline to give him a focus, it would be one random event after the other. Michael seems to behave a lot like Twilight's friend Pinkie Pie but he has a hardworking nature similar to Applejack as well. He's very dedicated about what he does, just sometimes he doesn't know what he's doing.

Night Glider is our set coordinator. He also helps us on the set and I honestly wonder why he's not the director and Michael is. Night is very encouraging and kind, like a combination of Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy. It's honestly very interesting to see the three stallions work together. Sometimes, they're as much entertainment as the actual show is.

Dan

Barro's fine for the most part. He's easy to work with, he gives us the freedom to do what we want and his ideas are interesting for the most part. When the story got a little popular, we all were happy but then... Barro started singing. The moment he posted the song lyrics and got away with it, he thinks he's some kind of musician/songwriter now. This wouldn't be a problem though; the songs in the story are fine and we're all able to sing them well enough but Barro... tries to sing them on his own.

I've heard traffic accidents that sound better than Barro's singing. He's loud, he's always been loud and his voice carries and it's like there's NO WHERE to go when it starts. He sings in the shower, he sings when he's writing the show, I am seriously close to muzzling him. Fortunately, he's not on the set very often and I have my headphones. So it's not really a problem.

Michael Hay on the other hand, he's insane. When he first told us he wanted to wreck Twilight's library, ALL OF US said it was a bad idea. Barro bargained with him to get him to just shake it up and have it fall over a tad. Before, Michael wanted to blow up the entire library with a pyrotechnics display. 'Pyrotechnics display' essentially means half a ton of TNT. He was going to destroy a good portion of Ponyville, he might destroy a good portion of Equestria if he gets the chance. He's unstable and if I catch him taking the last Danish again, I'M GOING TO LEAVE A PYROTECHNICS DISPLAY IN HIS TRAILER!!

Well, that's our cast for the series so far. I'm hoping to add a lot more characters both canon, fan characters and OCs in later episodes. I hope you all enjoyed the interviews and continue enjoying Dan Vs. The Magic of Friendship!

I sometimes wonder how manage to come up with this stuff.:rainbowlaugh: Seriously, it feels like a real interview. Yet at the same time, you could make a one shot out of this and it would be hilarious.
Thanks for the cameo as well.:rainbowdetermined2:

Well, that was different. :twilightsheepish:
