    Helloooo!!

Hi everyone! I know it's been such a long, long time, but I'll have you know that I still pop in sometimes! I just haven't been productive. XP If you follow me on any of my social media (I started Twitter last year, too!), yeah... It's weird as hell.

    Hello everyone! Also story update!

Hi everybody! I wanted to first say how sorry I am for having pretty much disappeared for the past several months. There really is no excuse for that at all. The last thing I want to do is disappoint all of you. So, I'm very, very sorry. I'm thankful for all of you that have stuck around! I hope that 2017 will be a much better year!

    Patreon?

Hello everyone! How's it going? :pinkiehappy:

I’ve considered it quite a bit, but I’ve been unsure about the idea. Not because I don’t have a huge following, I would not expect to get a lot! I’m more than fine with just making some loose change. X3

    The Mane Attraction Review

I know pretty much everyone else is doing this, but I'll go ahead and do it too. XP Because I'm a sheep! Anyway, so this episode was indeed Amy Keating Rogers' final episode of MLP. She's since gotten work at Disney, which is pretty awesome for her. It's pretty sad knowing she's no longer writing for MLP, she's been on staff ever since season one! She even wrote The Journal of the Two Sisters!

    The Hooffields and McColts Review

So it looks like we have the fourth use of the Cutie Map in play today! On top of that, it's Fluttershy and Twilight who are to take care of this friendship problem! And it's a shout-out to not only real-life history based on a feud that lasted over twenty years, but also to movies of a similar theme. Interesting!

Simple Ways Review · 11:29pm Feb 8th, 2014

Oh boy, we were in for quite a doozy today! We all knew Rarity would be getting her hooves dirty in order to be more like Applejack due to trying to impress Trenderhoof, a famous travel writer.

So it was a crush, which I guess was similar to back in The Best Night Ever. At least this pony was actually nice! If a bit misguided, however.

All right, so Rarity is chosen as the master of ceremonies to put together the Ponyville Days festival in celebration of the town's finding. She of course has many wonderful ideas for the said festival, which is of course quite, ahem, haute couture, if you know what I mean. As well as this, a famous travel writer, known as Trenderhoof, is coming to town. Rarity has a huge crush on him, as we all know by now.

And she has a shrine to him! A shrine! All kinds of photos and other paraphernalia about him! Including a lock of his mane! Uh... Hi, Helga... where've you been all this time? Seriously, I think that was a little comedic shout-out to Hey Arnold! XD Oh good gracious!

So, he comes in to town, and... whoa. Aside from the glasses, he's got similar hair, is fairly taller and skinnier than most stallions, and has an argyle cutie mark, almost like plaid... Oh my god it's pony Arnold! Practically! Oh jeez! XD Nonetheless, Rarity is just gaga over him, but the minute he meets Applejack, he falls head over hooves for her. This of course sparks jealousy in Rarity as she tries to get his attention, while poor disinterested Applejack is stuck in the loop.

Now Rarity has to try being like Applejack, with little success. But that all comes to a head later on, when she comes out, wearing a ratty hat, her mane and tail completely unkempt, and wearing overalls! They have overalls in the show! I knew they had pants, but wow! Overalls! And she puts on a southern accent! Oh my gosh! Southern accent Rarity is hilarious! XD I love it! Oh my gosh! It's too funny!

Oh oh, even better! Then Applejack puts on a dress and acts all high society, which sparks Rarity to say the same things Applejack did to her! Just to teach her a lesson, which we'll get to in a second.

We all know Applejack wasn't interested in Trenderhoof, and now we really get to see that come to a head. He shows up, all decked out like a farmer and determined to move to Ponyville. Wow. After knowing her for less than a day, no less! I wonder if this was also a little playful jab at Disney's whole Love At First Sight trope? I could be wrong, but I guess there might have been that in mind! Hey, at least it was done with love and not a hateful barb that becomes less funny the more it's done.

Ahem...

So! Then comes the moment of truth. Applejack isn't interested and Rarity speaks of a true lesson. In that you should never change yourself for someone else just because they're different. If someone can't accept you as you are, then they're not worth it and it's their loss. That is definitely a good lesson to learn and it worked very well here. Trenderhoof of course learned this as well and backed off respectfully.

Well, this episode was pretty funny! It was a nicely done Rarity episode, the crush factor was handled in a funny and silly way, Applejack was fantastic in this, and it was just an overall fun time. I really enjoyed it!

And really, this was a great RariJack episode. It really had the two of them showcasing each other's differences so nicely, even if Rarity was using it to her own gain. But at the same time, she wasn't mocking or trashing Applejack's farm style. We just see that it's not to her taste. The same goes for Applejack. While she was using Rarity's style to teach her a lesson, she also wasn't bashing it or thinking ill of it. Applejack plain out says she knows Rarity and that she knows the high society style is what she prefers, and Rarity does the same in that Applejack's style is more simple and country. This really is a great showcasing of their friendship and how they respect and accept each other's differences. They made fun of the styles, but it was done in a silly and tasteful way by the long run. Their interactions in this episode was really nicely done and so sweet!

What definitely got to me was Applejack's line, in where she says if Rarity's interested AFTER the festival, she'd teach her how to do chores around the farm. Now, of course we all know what's really going on. But the sentiment is really sweet, we know Applejack truly would do that for her. Awww!

So it was a fun episode! Really liked it. :D

Not until you pointed them out did I realize the similarities to HA! OMG, how could I have missed them? :derpyderp1:

Rarity trying to be a "country gal" was pretty hilarious! I especially couldn't help laughing at her attempt at a Southern accent! :rainbowlaugh:

A great RariJack episode for sure! :pinkiehappy:

I dunno about you, buddy, but I smell potential fanficcies in the making~ :duck::heart::ajsmug:
