So, the first time around, I really hated the newest episode. I was mad about how they 'kicked out' characters in order to get to the main plot. I was very upset about the whole thing with Pinkie. I thought it was just badly written. But now, looked at it another time, I find I liked the interaction between the characters at the beginning. It shows how they currently feel about Discord. AJ doesn't like his nonsense, Rarity does seem to like anything he does, and RD just wants him to go away. This all stems from how he hurt them and their friends.
When it comes to Pinkie though, I liked how she was suspicious at first but then feeling agrees to help him. She wants to hug, cuddle and talk about herself. It became obvious at the episode goes on that Discord already knew about Fluttershy being gone and wanted to mess with Twilight from the beginning. So, it wasn't even that he didn't want to hang out with her, it was that he never wanted the other's help to begin with. He was getting them out of the way. He even gave her a balloon to follow.
Yes! This is me defending my favorite couple but you crazy people should of known what you were getting into. And as a last note, I hate the amount of discord/twilight shipping there will be. No, he doesn't like her nor her back. He just loves getting a rise out of her and knows her morals will keep her from pushing him away. Hello!!! Star Trek, People! I was just venting and being a little out there with my shipping.
It wasn't suppose to be too serious. I liked the episode. I was just upset at how they seemed to just kick out characters. The second time I watched it, I really liked it better cause I could see the interaction between the character without being distracted by trying to find out what the plot is. It's also interesting seeing how a 'reformed' Discord would function.
And, I need material for my stories. Must feed imaginary shipping.

I agree: By the looks of it, AJ COULD tolerate him if weren't by all his nosense. Rainbow Dash and Rarity (specially the former) would take a looong while, though. Twilight proved she does care - but Discord dismissed Pinkie (and obviously did not ask for Fluttershy) because he KNEW they wouldn't mind cathering for him if he were in need - no need to test either of them.

I agree with you on AJ. If he could prove a hard working side, she will at least accept that he's not so bad some of the time. I don't know if RD or Rarity would be the hardest to get along with. I did write a funny little story about Rarity bothering Discord about fabric matching. So, I think if they could find some common ground, they may be able to get along.
I think the writers need to get more into who Discord is, what he likes. Then we can find ways for the rest of the main six to connect or at least tolerate him. All they know right now, is that he enjoys messing with people.

1776354 Hmm... you have a point. At least due experiences in real life, usually people whom main form of entraitainment is nagging others are lonely or just carving for attention. Being petrified for one thousand years would do the "lonely" part. Maybe whatever happened prior he started wreaking havok around for the first time (when Celestia and Luna dealt with him).

Well, he did state he's never had friends before. That could be extremely lonely. Also, we don't know if he has any family. He could have no one to teach him limits or having fun that doesn't involve bothering people. Without friends or family, he would have to kinda force people to interact with him as there's no one willing to do so.
