A few of you may have heard of a little project going up on FimFiction—the Royal Guard, a group dedicated to highlighting quality fanfic. If you’d like to find out more about us, you can check out our original blog post, but that’s not what we’re here for tonight.
As a prereader for The Royal Guard, I am pleased to announce that we are now open for submissions! If you have a fic that you’re confident about, feel free to submit it to us for evaluation. If it’s up to our standards, we’ll be happy to post it!
A few rules, by the way:
—No [Mature] stories. Sorry, but it’s not up to us. Adsense doesn’t like clop or the like, so we can’t advertise it on siteposts.
—You’re permitted one story submission every week (i.e. every seven days). This is just to make sure that we don’t get flooded with a ridiculous amount of fics, especially during opening week. Any stories submitted after the author has already submitted one that week will be automatically marked as duplicates in the queue and deleted.
—If you’re unsure of our standards, check out our Omnibus. If you’d like some clarification on our process and infrastructure, glance over the Prereader’s Constitution.
—FimFiction stories only. Sorry, GDoc/dA folks.If you have any questions, feel free to ask them below. I’ll be happy to answer them! In the meantime, keep on keeping on. Expect to see our first compilation post next Tuesday, and then biweekly posts after that.

I am actually trying to get into that group. Unfortunately, I have been taking forever on the application form due to having no time to finish it. I am nearly done, mind you, but I think that the essay questions are going to do me in. I am terrible with essays.

Coming from another editor, I feel you. I wrote paragraphs on the technical short-answer questions. When I was posed an open-ended question, I struggled to achieve the same level of depth.
