Turns out the tournament won't be cancelled, nor will it be done by me any longer.
KenSES64, with help from RazortheAwesome, has offered to take the reins of the tournament, writing the chapters and figuring stuff out with minimal input from me. Battles will still be published under the original DEATH BATTLE: Equestria story, but I will not be writing them any longer. I will be focusing my DBE time on regular battles.
So anyone who wanted regular battles back, you win! Anyone who wanted the tournament to continue, you win too! We all win!

will they still be as funny and will they keep the host names? I want to make sure the same amount of dedication and quality is maintained. If they don't keep the host names that's okay.
1744545 It will remain the same. The only difference is that someone other than me is handling the writing and, for the most part, the research (though I will be pointing out and correcting any inaccurate info). Host names and such will stay the same, and for the most part they should stay just as funny; if the dialogue between the hosts doesn't seem right, I'll tweak it without changing anything important.

Here's one I'd like to see, for karma. Babs Seed versus Diamond Tiara, and Tiara's not allowed to buy her victory (as in her money isn't a factor).
Actually, I'd love to see all four CMC verses Diamond Tiara, Silver Spoon, and...any two you want to add to them to balance the teams.
