    Crunch Month

I apologize for the delay in releasing the next chapter for Ten Years Gone, but we've reached that month of the semester where all of my classes suddenly dump their final projects on me. Just figured I'd let you all know. At this point, the only promise I can make is that things will pick up again once winter break comes around, but I'll see what I can hammer out in the meantime.

First off, allow me to begin by announcing that Crunch Month (and its following 'burned-out' period) is officially over! I can finally start writing chapters for Ten Years Gone again without feeling like I've had all the blood drained from my body. For those of you who were hoping for an update by New Years Day, I'm sorry, but I just couldn't. Well, not without releasing a butchered mess of a chapter - all that quick-writing magic went into writing final papers and the like in the span of a single day for each.

So, as for what I plan to be doing for next year, I'll be honest here; I never bothered with them in the past, so this is a new one for me. I guess it's because I need to set myself some overarching goals for the end of next year - when my father passed away at the end of 2012, most of this year was spent just trudging through each waking day trying not to feel like a walking corpse. I'd pretty much been doing nothing actively until a few months ago, when college was putting on the pressure and I needed something of my own to look forward to doing. So that's the first big goal of 2014: to keep writing my fanfics on a regular basis, and to keep the enjoyment I get out of writing them.

My second goal for next year is even bigger - start writing on the book series I've been planning out since 2007, and get actual legwork done on it. I've been sitting on my life's calling for nearly seven years, constantly building on and making changes to the plot, setting and characters until it got to the point where a simple sci-fi story has since grown into a bizarre blend of fantasy, science fiction, cosmic horror and alternate history: Imagine if Bioshock Infinite took place across multiple game franchises and got to the point where the floating city Columbia started emulating the Combine from Half Life 2 and landed itself on top of capital cities from other universes in various acts of conquest, and that's just an allusion to a single plot arc for one of my stories.

The point is that I've been procrastinating on this for far too long now, and although I have the excuse of November of 2007 being when I turned 14 (and digging up what I did write from that time, it was all a putrid mess made by a kid just starting his teenage years), the fact is that I just turned twenty, and it's time for me to start pursuing my largest goals. I want my first book published by 2017, so that means I'd best make some serious headway on it soon.

So here's to 2014. Let's make it a year to be remembered for all the right reasons, shall we?

I cant wait for the next chapter from "Ten Years Gone"

But this sounds interesting, too...

The end of this year is really coming together to become an exiting ordeal with me looking forward to the new year greatly.

Happy New Year! Best of luck kicking your life into reality from the cold clammy clutches of cthulhu's chest of crumpets.(Well, that's where my hopes and dreams are stuck right now. Yours might be elsewhere.)

So... just a tip, you should probably tag your future blogposts with your super-popular story Ten Years Gone. You may only have 153 followers right now, but you've got 1758 favorites. I know this blogpost is more you writing down this stuff for yourself, but you've engaged enough of us random fimfic users that you deserve more eyeballs and comments on your stuff. And it only kinda needs to be directly related to the story, so it's totally fine with the rules.

Aaaaand those are lots of fireworks going off somewhere around IRL here. Everyone's got reason enough to celebrate, but you've got an actual plan of actually doing stuff for real and things. (And also 's far as writing goes, my opinionated assessment is that in those first three chapters you're directing the flow with the laser-precision of confidence.) That's like... 8 reasons, so have an Awesome New Year!

1670233 Would not recommend trying that. You'll lose credibility quite rapidly, as far as your blog posts are concerned. Keep it simple, keep it on the up and up. If people are interested, they'll find their way to it, and if they're not; then tricking them here won't do any good for anybody.

I would like a copy of that(those?) book(S?)... they seem verry interesting

Hey, did you ever finish that book? It sounds cool!

ITS 2017 NIGGA WHERE U AT

Hope you're okay

Its been 8 years (7 and 11 months if your technical) since you last updated the story, hope you ok
