I'm Zyr1987 (Rhymes with sir) and I'm currently the only person to write stories about Fleur de Lis to any great extent. I also ship extensively and have been taking to combining the two in my stories

Merry christmas and a happy 2014! Also, a new avvy and a review of Bats! · 11:00pm Dec 28th, 2013

Fluttershy as a bat has lead to such adorable artwork:

(See also, my new avvy)

Anyway, lets ignore my poor fanfic progress (Still catching up on my sleep from Christmas so mind isn't 100% quite yet) and review the newest episode. (Fun fact: This is the first episode I can think of where Fluttershy and Applejack interact for a good portion of the episode. The two never hang out in any other ep)

We start with Applejack realizing that the vampire fruit bats have returned before calling all the mane six and Spike to Sweet Apple Acres to fix the problem (also, a giant ass apple!) which makes sense, and sets up the rest of the episode though does nothing beyond that IMO. Fluttershy's failed attempt to communicate with the vampire bats actually makes a bit of sense, even if she typically can communicate with new animals quickly (see The Cutie Mark Chronicles) and sets up a bit of drama

The song, though, was a low point, IMO. Sure it succeeded at being creepy and dramatic, but it was also just bad at the end when Fluttershy seemed to be bullied into submission by the end of the song. Seriously, ponies? You bully your good friend, who has helped save Equestria and who already has severe self-confidence issues? Seriously? RAAAGH!

Sorry, I hate it when bullying is treated as anything but horrible after my own experience.

Rainbow's concern about cider, though was a. great and b. a good sign that she needs some AA help, and Fluttershy's reluctance to use the stare was extremely interesting as well, not only because it suggests she can now control it, but because it shows her morality remains.

Let's skip ahead to the next night, after finding that the problem has not been solved. The idea of Pinkie having semi-prehensile hair was weird, but does have some basis in already established canon and didn't effect me much. And the scarecrow...someone get me a jpg of it, I need to make a new demotivational declaring someone has made a strawman argument

Then we get to the reveal: Fluttershy as a vampire pony (see picture above). This was great. The shyest, sweetest pony being a vampire has such hilarious potential, and after they cure her, we see she is not fully cured. I have this terrible idea for a story now...

Overall, an 8.1 out of 10. The song was the big low point, and there were a few things that bugged me but overall I liked it.

Yeah I disliked the song as well even though it was inspired by Nightmare before Christmas. As for Vampireshy: Nomnomnom...
