I know I said that the next chapter of Ponyville DxD would be out by the end of last week. But as sometimes happens to us fanfic writers, life kinda had different ideas. I'll do my best to finish it over the next few days.
But I've decided to impose a new rule on myself. Anytime I delay a chapter further than I had originally planned (let's say more than a week between updates for future reference), you'll get a free High School DxD picture as a consolation and reward for your patience with me. So here you go:
Hmm...
At this rate, I'm going to have to look for the anime/manga and read/watch it.
Aww don't feel bad. I'm sure your readers will understand.

I'd consider it a win, if my little crossover led to people checking the source material out.
I'd recommend starting with the anime to see if you like it. The manga adaptation isn't actually as far along as that. But the light novel, on which both are based, numbers 16 volumes by now. The anime is based on the first four volumes. They're a good read and there's pretty high quality fan translations out.
Here's the Wiki Page.
And yes, they are technically legal, since the light novels aren't licensed outside Japan.
I've even made a conscious effort to emulate the writing style of the light novels for this story.

I'll check it all out at some point.
As a fellow writer, never promise to release something before you're actually done with it. Too many times I've done this and failed to go through with it due to personal reasons or general laziness.
And as for not getting the chapter out, again, I know it goes. Here's a free shoulder hug.

Fun fact: Trying to find a picture that's sfw and that's from the light novel is harder than one would think. So many tempting pictures...

I'm gonna go ahead and be the opposite of Ranko and say to read the manga first. The reason for this is because whether its censored or not and if you're tolerant of a LOT of nudity, the anime unfortunately has the problem of "sex sells". And when I mean lots of nudity, I mean a LOT of nudity. I mean, the light novel and manga already enough in them, but the anime sadly almost made me want to turn it off because of how absurd it was in terms of nudity (though luckily I didn't because I wouldn't found out more about the series).
The manga, while it isn't as far as the anime, does the right thing and tries to keep it closer to the light novel in terms of fan service.
But, if you don't mind nudity again, then what Ranko says is correct. Watch the anime as it goes further than the manga.

I have no problem with heavy fanservice in anime as long as the plot's enjoyable for me. My first anime exposure - not counting Pokémon and DBZ - was Ranma 1/2, shortly followed by Saber Marionette J, both heavy fanservice animes. One of my all time favorites is the Sekirei sequence. I don't think I need to say anything there, assuming you know it. Any suggestions on where I can find this anime online?

Up to episode 20 (Season 2, episode 8), you can find for free on Funimation, though you'll need to have a funimation account for it as it requires +17 age of consent stuff (stupid American laws on nudity). Really that's the only 'legit' place I can find at the moment that allows you to watch it and is the farthest.
If you want to watch the entire thing, you'll more than likely going to have to watch it illegally via something like anilinkz.com (the site I use) or some other site, though I will say be careful as there are sites that pose as that but then force you into a subscription or some other BS like viruses and such.

Thanks for the recommendation.
