    The State of the Site

So, I've noticed a rather saddening trend lately. People have become such arrogant bastards on this site. They demand that authors do what THEY want, how THEY want it, and that it happens immediately. And if they don't get what they want, the start attacking the author. What the fuck, guys?

    Hiatus inbound

So, starting tomorrow (the 10th of July) I will be going on the Shikoku Junrei. It's a multisite pilgrimage of 88 temples on the island of Shikoku. It's a long trip, especially as I plan on walking it. I don't expect to complete the pilgrimage, but hell, I'm not gonna get another chance like this for a long time.

    A Land of Contrasts

    So. Japan.
Today is the first day I really, actually did anything properly tourist-y.

It started with me going to Hiroshima. And clearly one can think of exactly one thing when you hear that name.

    Malaysian Stopover

    WARNING
    Rambling. Nothing but rambling.

So, the flight from Adelaide to Kuala Lumpur was uneventful. It was like a long bus ride, except there were toilets on-board. I also managed to travel back in time, kinda. Time zones are magical like that.

If any of you are seeing a chapter notification for SSDW, ignore that. I accidentally unpublished a chapter.

Also, according to this site, I write like H.P. Lovecraft. Or Chuck Palahniuk, whoever that is.

Huh. I apparently write like JK Rowling.
Not what I expected, even when I was keeping my expectations open.

Also I'm stupid and somehow didn't notice SSDW :facehoof: I'll go read that now...

Chuck Palahniuk is the Guy who wrote "Fight Club" and a Bunch of similar books like "Choke" and "Invisible Monsters"

When I put in text from a chapter of Human, my most popular story on Fimfiction, it told me I write like Tolkien. And Human is a dark random meta-comedy which has a giant robot Hitler in one chapter, so I'm not really sure whether I trust the credibility of this thing.

But then again, it did manage to give me different results when I wrote in different styles. Wanderer's Diary and Courier's Journal are my two big Fallout stories, and they were deliberately written to have different narrative voices, even though they were both in first person. For Courier's Journal it said I wrote like Isaac Asimov, where for Wanderer's Diary it said Raymond Chandler.

I'm still really not sure if this site is fucking with me or not, but I suppose I can't get mad at a compliment.

Iput in the first chapter of The Collector, a horror story, and got Margaret mitchell. I put in the most recent chapter, and got Neil Gaiman.

Hmm... I think the results change based on the content.

The first chapter of SSDW got me Lovecraft, but every one after that got me Palahniuk.

1621578 I want to be Lovecraft... but anyway, i put in a few different things of mine, and the answer keeps changing. So either my writing style changes a lot, or the site keeps changing its answer.

Copy-pasting the entirety of the story I'm writing -yet I'm too lazy to finish and publish- I apparently write like Cory Doctorow.

Yay?

1621588>>1621578 Apparently I got Mark Twain.

Well lucky me.

1623183 That just shows writing style, not talent, by the by. I never said anything I put in was good, just that I put it in.

I typed in this:

We are anonymous. We are legion. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us.

I got some guy named Kurt Vonnegut for that (I really am not good when it comes to knowing writers).

1626495
Kurt did some really bizarre stuff.
A line I remember from one of his books:

Why don't you go take a flying fuck at a donut? Why don't you go take a flying fuck at the moooooooooooooon?

1626584
Nice. Now you reminded me of this:

Lol I tried it two times. First I got H.P. Lovecraft, second Rudyard Kipling.
