I understand criticism, and I really do appreciate it when it is needed (if I have typos, the grammar is fuzzy, or it just plain doesn't make sense) but there are times that I have to draw the line. On one hoof, critics help me become a better writer, on the other, some don't criticize the correct thing. I have had this happen twice, the first ponies to read a new story I post, give it a thumbs down, not because of grammar, spelling, or just the strange way I write, no, it was because they didn't like the story. I am very very attentive when it comes to my descriptions, and one of them even had a warning at the beginning saying if you didn't like such and such fics, don't read this one. They did, and thumbed it down, so very few ponies wanted to read it. The next one some pony decided to give it a thumbs down, just because of the title, they hadn't even read my story. I understand if the title isn't witty yet, it takes time to get there. It's a broad outline title that just gets it up and viewable, but if you're the first pony to read it, if you're going to leave a thumb down, please have a good reason, and I mean very good reason.
I'm sorry to rage like this, but the reason my work came to a halt was because of this. Although I know many of you like my works, one bit of criticism like that really gets me down, not a helpful comment saying "You may want to clean up the grammar." But purely judging a story from the title, or reading it even though you already know you don't like that kind of book. Because it may discourage others from even trying it, which makes me feel like I have failed you all as a writer.
Now that that is off my chest, I'll continue writing. More updates coming soon, sorry for the gap everypony, I'll try not to let it happen again (or at least warn you of it)
Thanks everypony for every favorite, follow, and thumb up you give me, it really does mean a lot.
