This day

and when I was bored I got this random idea of using a parodied version of "this day" aria.

Basically Discord has corrupted princess luna (in the same way of the mane 6). Making her a nightmare moon in luna form and she begins to insight a civil war against celestia. Meanwhile queen chrysalis takes advantage and pretends to be the "real" luna and the real luna is actually an alliance between the changeling queen and discord. In truth discord and chrysalis hate each other.

celestia left with the main 6 to investigate discord. and now they are rushing towards canterlot because she just realised she left a fake sister in charge.

Hence the aria is useful. as both prepare for 2 civil wars at the same time.

Luna:
This Day is going to be Perfect.
The kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small.
Everypony will gather 'round
Say I look lovely in my crown
Discord
What they don't know is that I will rule them all...

changeling empire notes
well they're more developed as a hedonist society, selling themselves out as concubines, spies and servants/slaves... as I see it. The changeling kingdom is as wide as any kingdoms they occupy. controlling from the shadows they live as parasites. shaping history, government and culture to fit their purposes.

as I see it, chrysalis was one off queen that hated to serve and wanted to rule. To not beg and scrape for scraps of affection from a sinful master... but to be adored and worshipped, drowning in the love of the broken minds of the ponies of equestria.
