Well played Hasbro. (Episode 4 spoilers) · 4:18pm Dec 7th, 2013

The newest episode with Dash obsessing over the Daring Doo series is an obvious allegory for bronies obsessing over the show.

...and then it's revealed that the writer of this fictional series is actually the character she writes about!
So that means MLP:FiM Daring Doo books are really just a retelling of what actually happened!
And then huge fan of the series (Rainbow Dash) ends up in the series herself!

Characters learning that a fictional world is real, and one responsible for the 'fiction' is the main character from the story? Where have I heard of that before?

I'm onto you Hasbro...

Hasbro, if you need more episode ideas, I suggest Royal Duties. :trollestia:

1581023 Another Fact: Daring Doo is actually a homage to both Indiana Jones AND Harry Potter.
J.K. Rowling (author of the Harry Potter Series)
A.K. Yearling
Hmmmmm

You beautiful bastard, I like the way you think.

Oh no! Dashie is turning back into Dave! Quick, there's gotta be something that can be done! :pinkiegasp:

(Her Cutie Mark is missing in the pic, which is why I jump to those conclusions. That's the huge plot twist of the next chapter, isn't it?!)

You better watch out,
You better not angst,
You better now whine,
I'm telling you why,
Hasbro knows you like ponies.

They're making a list,
Checking it twice,
Gonna find out what bronies like,
Hasbro knows you like ponies.

They know when you're surfing pony Youtube videos,
They know when you're writing fan fiction,
They know whether you've clopped or not,
So hide your boner for goodness sake.

With exceptional writers and talented animators,
They're gonna write what bronies like,
Hasbro knows you like ponies.

So you better watch out,
You better not angst,
You better now whine,
I'm telling you why,
Hasbro knows you like ponies.

Hasbro is a corporate entity with no time to dally,
Selling toys is what makes their revenues hit high tallies,
Because Hasbro knows you like ponies,
Hasbro knows you like ponies,
Hasbro knows you likeā€¦
POOOOOOOONIES!

God, I am so bored. :twilightoops:

8/10, prefer it to the Mariah Carey version.:rainbowwild:

1581118
Well sooooorry, Princess! :rainbowwild:

1581023
That would make a very entertaining episode. :scootangel:

Your batting a thousand with episodes backing your continuity, especially with Discord being more dangerous then ever, which could have easily been changed to "And then they became the bestest friends evar1!"

Good thing: Hasbro read the fanfics:pinkiesmile:

Bad thing: Hasbro READ the fanfics:pinkiecrazy:

It took me awhile to catch onto what you had going on there, but when I realized how much of a cheeky bastard you were, I gained so much respect for you Twisted Spectrum.

Any one else Pinkie was wearing a FEZ instead of the regular party hat? Whovians? Also, I know how Rainbow feels. I remember the 3 month, 26 day mark, too.

Also, HASBRO!!! WAKE UP!!! YOU GUYS WANT TO SELL TOYS, SO GUESS WHAT? WRITE THE DARING DO BOOKS!!! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY BRONIES WOULD BUY THOSE???!!!

You know you're a genius when you and the canon start thinking alike :pinkiehappy:

*squee*
Your altered avatar is adorable, NMM needs to wear santa hats more often :rainbowkiss:

This one makes so much more sense now:

I will probably make another once finals are over, not sure what picture to use though. I made this Twilight Sparkle one for funzies though.

Nah. I actauly heard that the staff isn't even aloud to read the fanfics. Somtimes you just get lucky. Like I was right about Celestia being the bear of kindness and Luna being the bear of honesty (Though I only chose that becouse I was a fan of The Assumption Applejack and added that to the MMBB cannon)

Still I picked the right element, twice. Is Hasbor reading MMBB. If that's the case, GIVE SHINING HIS OWN FREAKING EPISODE ALREADY WHERE HE DOES SOMETHING BADASS!!!!

1586111
Hehe, I know, I don't actually think Hasbro copied me. I'm just teasing.

However, it's not 100% true that the staff isn't allowed to read fanfics. The show writers have made references (on Twitter) about Cupcakes :pinkiecrazy:

1586468 Really. Well I've never read Cupcakes and even I know about it. Also I knew you were just kidding.

Where have we heard a plot like that before (I don't mean THAT plot, you dirty clopper)...
1583107 somehow I missed the Fez. I'm a horrible Whoovian (brony-whovian) :pinkiesad2:. But fezzes, fezzes are cool.
I liked the red paint gag. I didn't see that coming.

Vex

Mind = Blown

Now we just need an episode about a brony coming through the mirror from Equestria girls and freaking out because ponies :moustache:

While I agree it seems a bit weird there is one problem. Those who write MLP are not allowed to read fanfics of their work. It's in their contract. Idk why this is but it is. :derpytongue2:

1595673
Hehe, someone already made both of those points, and I already have a reply to both of them :rainbowwild: See here: 1586468

Long story short, I know, I'm just playin'

1595876
Oh? Maybe because they have youtube videos and other stuff about it. You never know. :derpytongue2:

1581023

Hasbro animator: :pinkiesick: NO:trixieshiftleft:

1581031 Another-other fact: Yearling Books (which was either bought out by or is a subsidiary of Randomhouse) is a company that prints a lot of my favorite childhood books, and even a few I like now.

Same reason Terry Pratchett doesn't read Discworld fanfiction. They could open themselves up for a copyright lawsuit if there's a chance they might have accidentally copied a fanfic idea rather than rediscovering it independently.
