New Story: To Make a Spark · 8:45pm Dec 2nd, 2013

I have a new story out, which went up on Equestria Daily while I was at work and has just been published here. To Make a Spark is my take on how Cadence became an alicorn, and I can honestly say that it represents the most time I've spent on a single story, ever. Considering the whole thing is under 5000 words, that's saying something.

There's actually quite a bit I want to say about how and why this story came to be, but I'll save that for another blog post (probably within the next few days--stay tuned if you're interested in that sort of thing). Before I say too much, I'd really like to hear what some of you readers and soon-to-be readers have to say. If To Make a Spark sounds like your sort of thing, please check it out and leave a comment. I look forward to hearing what you have to say, and I hope you enjoy!

EDIT: Hello, feature bar! That's the first time one of my stories has, and I have to say, it feels nice!

After attempting to write my own tale of "alicornification", I'm really sick of such stories. So the only reason why I'm still planning to read it is because you wrote it.

"This sounds like something I'll hate, but because you wrote it, I'm hoping I'll like it anyway" is a heck of a compliment, it seems to me!

1565527 It's a fair point, though. I doubt I'd pay attention if it wasn't someone I had reason to believe could pull it off. Comments in the morning.

Based on what I know of your tastes, I'm guessing you won't particularly care for it :twilightblush: Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say!

Even more than your poem "The Two Sisters", whose lines you've read over at least a dozen times each?

Well, I blew it right out of the water in absolute terms. That was my "most time on a word-by-word basis" record holder, though, and I'm pretty sure it still is.

Well, depending on how one counts the time invested in versions of a story that were completely scrapped, that is.
