A new project, and an explanation!

    Hey folks,

Alternate title for this blog post: I'm Doing a Thing (and I'm looking for help)

I don't think anyone is surprised that my pony writing has been on a bit of a hiatus for a while, and my presence on this site is mostly to lurk-and-read rather than finish my long-delayed stories. What you might not know, though, is what I've been doing instead of pony writing.

Wind Thief Interview! Also, sequel update! · 5:41am Nov 27th, 2013

Equestria Daily prereader Amacita just posted an interview on one of my favorite stories, The Wind Thief, over on his blog. Check it out here!

Of course, the number one question I get asked whenever The Wind Thief comes up is, "Where is that damned sequel you promised us?" Er, heh, yeah. Good news! It's now my #2 priority, after finishing up Salvation. I already have a large portion of it drafted, and I'm excited to get back to Sly and her adventures.

Proof!

So the legends are true? How can this be?

This makes me happy. I really enjoy Salvation, and I'll be sad to see it end, but the fact that its completion will facilitate the arrival of the Wind Thief sequel is one hell of a silver lining. Bring on the Sly!

I think my squee might have woken up every dog within a mile. But only the dogs. (I tried clicking the 'Submit' button... it didn't work. D:)

I wish I found Salvation interesting just so I'd have something of yours to read while waiting for this. I just HAVE to know if there's any truth to my theories concerning Luna, but that probably won't even come up for a number of stories if this is intended to be a series. Or ever, if I'm completely wrong... :pinkiesad2: But I'll have a great time being proven wrong, if nothing else.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to see the sequel to The Wind Thief coming to life. Seriously. Of all the stories I've read in this fandom, this is probably the one I recall most fondly and vividly, several "heavyweights" included in that list. It was one of the first I read and deserves more love.

My feelings are ineffable. Welcome back, Sly.

I had always imagined Sly as a Trixie lookalike. You just destroyed that mental image.

Really? Because it looks a bit like Trixie with messy hair to me once you compensate for the different art style.

Well, this is a pleasant surprise to wake up to. I didn't even know about this when I did the interview.

It wasn't one of your questions!

Cool, something to hold me over till the next Salvation chapter. A 68k word holdover.

Based on the title change and some phrases in the description, I have a plot theory: Luna is back from the dead, and she's pissed. :pinkiegasp: Then again, they never defeated the dragons in the first story so maybe this has something to do with them?

I'm honestly amazed anyone remembers the original title.

I'm also amazed at the random stuff that gets stuck in my long-term memory. Meanwhile, I usually can't remember where I parked. :twilightblush:
