Eh, the premiere was....
Fucking awesome!!
I really, really enjoyed it. We got some kickass scenes where Celestia fought Nightmare Moon, the sisters turned Discord to stone, and Rainbow Dash delivered a hoof-kicking blow to one of those annoying tentacle plants. (ignoring the fact she got knocked away) *cough* that was actually my favorite part *cough* go die in a fire *cough*
All in all, it was pretty rad, and I'm totally excited to see how the rest of the season is played out. I heard there is going to be a Rainbow Dash/Scootaloo episode, so I'm pretty stoked for those feels. Also the Power Ponies one seems pretty awesome as well.
Though, I can't help but point out that some pacing in the premiere was a little off-key. Like, as soon as Luna transformed into Nightmare Moon, Celestia immediately decided to banish her face to the moon. I thought it would have been a little better if Celestia tried to work something out, or at least talk to her, but unfortunately I don't write nor make the episodes.
Also, that part where Twilight's friends decided to just send her home. I thought that was a little odd, since they care so much about each other and shit. But I do get how they would be worried if Princess Celestia and Luna never came back; they wouldn't want Equestria to be Princess-less if something happened to Twilight, even though Cadence would still be intact. Though the Crystal Empire is pretty far away I'm guessing.
Other than that, it was very enjoyable. I'm so glad to see new stuff again after a nine-month long hiatus. I was about to lose my mind.
What are your opinions on it?
I thought it was pretty badass. There were a couple of issues I had with it (especially the magical potion that Zecora just happened to have with her for the occasion), but I was quite impressed overall. It's making me pretty excited for season 4, that's for sure.
