Perspectives, and What the Summer Holds · 10:16pm Apr 27th, 2012
If you'd have told me in September that I'd grow to love a show about brightly coloured ponies, I'd have laughed.
If you'd have told me in September that I'd grow to love a show about brightly coloured ponies to the extent that I'd write a 37000 word (and counting) shipfic about them, I'd have called you mental through tears of hilarity.
If you'd have told me in September that I'd grow to love a show about brightly coloured ponies to the extent that I'd write a 37000 word (and counting) shipfic about them and actively look forward to the prospect of writing even more during a (relatively) football, university and show free summer, I'd have to stop laughing for just long enough to put you in the strait-jacket myself.
Then again, that's the wonderful thing about perspectives. You can look back and go 'what the hell was I thinking?'. I've done it enough in regards to other aspects of my past after all.
I wasn't closed-minded in approaching FiM, but I never thought I'd actively enjoy the show, Not to the level I do.
But I do, so I may as well embrace it.
Even though the prospect of hopefully seeing Ireland do well (and England maybe get spanked) at Euro 2012 is alluring, the even better prospect of a milestone birthday (I turn 21 in July) is tantalising, and the even greater prospect of spending time with the girl who has put up with me longest (no insignificant feat) is mouth-watering, the simple idea of indulging my love of writing and my enjoyment of all things pony in a harmonious way is just as significant as all that.
So here's my plan.
- The Sweetest Cider; bang out as much more of it as I can think of. I already know the ending at the very least, but that shan't be for a long while yet.
- Spin-off fic in regards to Twilight falling in love (as requested by a few of you loyal readers).
- Collab OC fic in relation to High Spirits, the bartender from the early chapters.
- Maybe another fic pitched to me by someone - TwiLuna ship/adventure story.
I'm looking forward to it all already.

I feel ya, man.
Sometimes, everything just goes great. Knock on wood.
I totally understand! Who would have thought that pastel-coloured ponies could help and support a person through the death of a close family member? Not me.

Fingers are crossed.
