It would seem I have a horrible, horrible sense of timing. I just posted chapter 1 of my first story on this site the other day, and now I'm going to have to wait a bit before I can finish chapter 2; I've got an unbelievable amount of work to do over the next two weeks.
It annoys me because this is a story that won't tell itself with just one chapter. There are wheels within wheels, things that are not as they appear, things that are as they appear and demand explanations, and until I can get through at least three chapters, maybe more, I won't even have shown the tip of the iceberg.
I'm going to try and get back to it as soon as I can. I've already got a decent start on chapter 2. Just, if you're reading this, don't lose patience, okay? It will come.
