Write ALL the words! · 11:07pm Nov 12th, 2013
Remember my crazy insane goal this month? Writing 150.000 words for NaNoWriMo instead of the usual 50.000?
I just hit 50.000 words today, Novemeber 12. That's two days behind schedule, but still pretty damn amazing! I may have to really pick up pace if I am to have any hope of reaching the ultimate goal, but I have definitely proven to myself that I could actually do it if I really dedicated myself to it. And that's amazing!
It's tough work, though. Very exhausting too.
So what have I written? Not much on Uniformity, unfortunately. I've got one very rough chapter written and in serious need of editing, with very little time to do so. The rest of what I've written is on a bunch of other stories that I'm constantly switching between.
The benefit of that is that I almost always have some story where I know what to write next, so if I'm stuck on one I can go write on another for a while.
The downside is that it's a freakin' mess. I'm also starting to get stuck on more or less all of them, so that's a problem. We'll see how bad it is as I go into the second third of the challenge.
But 50k in 12 days, man! Woohoooooo! Sonic Word Boom!
That's kind of insane, man. I think my best monthly output was 70,000 when I was doing alternating chapters of ASB and Stitch in Time every other day, and by the end of that I just could not look at a blank google doc for like a week.
More power to you, though!

Thanks. It is pretty crazy. Every day I'm tempted to say, this is enough, I'll just slow down now and settle for 50k. But that's what I've done all the other years and I always wish I had done better. So I tell myself to soldier on this year. I sure will be relieved when it's over, though.
