What is getting old in fanfic and needs to die NOW!!!

Ok everypony, i love fanfic as much as the next colt does, but there are a few things that need to stop that makes your fanfic look like crap

1. Scootabuse: killing, hurting, or abusing a filly who just so happens to never be shown around her parents, is assumed to have drunk, abusive parents out of spite of the moments
2. killing ditsy doo: this is normally only used to either a) piss of ditsy doo fans, or b) get a cheap sad moment out of an already crappy fanfic
3. songfics: just stop it, please?
4. retarded shipping pairs: i will be 1st to say i am a twixie fan, i love the octavia and vinyl story i currently follow, and i even think applejack and rainbow dash make a cute couple, but stuff like apple bloom and spike? discord and luna? these are just silly

but, there are a few aspects i love about fanfics that make them almost instant reads for me

1. crossovers (quite liking mods away post humans)
2. background character focus (like twos company, threes a croud)
3. recreating a story using g1 characters.
4. action fanfics that DO NOT cross 1 and 2 of the above list
