A public service announcement! · 2:31am Nov 4th, 2013
In the off chance anyone reading this is considering purchasing Battlefield 4, DON'T. It has nothing to do with the gameplay, mind you - that's actually fairly solid. No, the problem with this game is that in all my life, I have NEVER seen a professionally released title so buggy. Fully updated drivers, repaired installations, correct system locale settings, correct DirectX version... and it loads multiplayer matches successfully MAYBE ten percent of the time. I would like to believe that the game is good, but I suspect I'll never know, as I can't actually manage to PLAY it.
It's not just me, either. This is most people. How the hell does DICE get away with releasing software in this state!? Even the beta didn't crash half this much, and they've had a week to get this under control!
