Biography: Kangaroo Commandos

Kangaroo Commandos are highly trained, deep cover operatives, specialised in espionage, and forward reconnoissance, Kangaroo Commandos are the eyes and ears of the Commonwealth of South Island in places where they may not necessarily be allowed to be.

The Commandos are not just a South Island organisation, but rather a much larger command structure among the Commonwealth of Lands, which grew out of the Welerian Empire.

Colour Sergeant Roy Melbourne

Officially retired from the South Island military, Roy Melbourne was a hero of the World War between The Coalition powers of South Island (Kangaroos), Zhosa (Zebras), Welera (Central Ponies), the Cossacks (Eastern Ponies) against the gryphons. In which he was highly decorated in.

Now that war has come again, Roy Melbourne took up a different task. Equestria.

Roy Melbourne met Twilight Sparkle in the mohoofie desert, when she decided to take an ill prepared walkabout on the suggestion of somepony that did not have her best interests at heart.

Roy saved her from dying of thirst, and unknowingly in the process helped her find what she had come looking for.

The two parted ways, promising that they would meet each other again, and when they did, Roy would take her to South Island.

They never saw each other again, and nearly a year and a half after their meeting, Roy Melbourne died of Lung Cancer.

38/42 Commando

Originally two separate units, 38/42 Commando was founded in Equestria by Captain Reginald Blackthorn, after the Majority of 38 Commando were accidentally killed setting fire to their glider entrance vehicle deep within the Everfree forest, setting the entirety of the forest on fire, and driving a Sapient cloud of Grey Smoke into Ponyville. Of the original 10 kangaroo unit, only three were left alive before they were discovered by 42 Commando.

38/42 Commando is a unit of sixteen, lead by Captain Blackthorn, and charged with being the backbone of the Kangaroo army in Ponyville.

Captain Reginald Blackthorn

Reginald Blackthorn is the all business, leader of 38/42 Commando. Born in South Island, and trained in Welera. Blackthorn is quite easily the most experienced soldier in all of Equestria. While not saying much, it's still significant. Blackthorn is a veteran of the World War, and knows gryphon battle tactics inside and out, as they have not changed since the last war in the slightest. Blackthorn does however have a sense of humour, which mostly involves hazing the over-eager Private Dillingham.

Second Lieutenant William Cutting

William Cutting is polite and generally friendly to all he speaks to. Upon landing in Equestria he met and befriended Apple Bloom and Scootaloo, winning the children's trust through his natural charms. Cutting's politeness does not however extend to those who do not deserve it, and this kangaroo's respect is difficult to earn back once lost. Cutting has the most field experience of all kangaroos in 38/42, not counting Captain Blackthorn, of whom most of his experience came from the last war, before the existence of Commandos.

Private Wilfred Dillingham

Brash, eager, and inexperience, at least by the Commando's standards. Dillingham had previously been a sergeant in the Royal Kingsland Fusilers Regiment before volunteering for the Commandos. He was selected and spent nearly a year training in espionage and reconnaissance before being assigned to 42 Commando. Being the newest to the unit, he is the subject of much hazing from the rest of the unit. He takes it in stride, however, and frequently throws it back. Despite this, he is a loyal, dependable, and well disciplined under fire, and he is exactly the person you want in the slit trench next to you.
