    On The Ages of Characters

Recently, I've come to accept that an actual physical age cannot be given to the vast majority of characters within the show. This failure on my part is mostly due to the fact that the biology of the characters cannot be said to be the same as humans. However, keeping in mind some SCIENCE, we can establish what amounts to an age range.

    Feelin' Better.

Alright. I have successfully kicked depression's ass. I am feeling much better, and will write something this weekend. I might just do a one-shot to get back in the flow of things.

P.S. In the event that I don't post something, then that means that my sad feelsies and I are having a rematch.

    I'm back.

I just wanted to let all of y'all know that I'm back. It will be a little bit before I start back with my writing, but I had to take a break. I'll write something once this cold clears up.

    Character Notes

This blog post is mostly for myself. It's just gonna be me putting down notes for the side characters in The Prince's Hounds. Feel free to comment if you like.

Doctor Daisy: Earth pony. Elderly mare, psychologist (therapist? Eh, it's pony land.) Acts(key word) like a typical granny.

Thoughts on Horror · 10:19pm Oct 19th, 2013

I find most horror to be unreadable. Most of it relies on cheap gimmicks to create tension. The cheapest of all is, of course, the slasher-style story. I can't stand them. There are much better ways of creating an impending sense of dread in a work. I think I did well in the Blueblood's Pets stories, and I, as you can tell from my last blog post, intend to continue that storyline with a proper epic.
The Prince's Hounds will be an adventure story told through what would normally be elements of horror. However, the underlying theme will be Octavia reclaiming control of her own life and mind.
I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts on this concept, and I want to know what horror elements you think will work in an adventure setting.

I thought you might. Are there any horror elements that you think the story would benefit from?

1437083 Not any that I can think of right now.
