So I have been gone the past while. I'll also be gone for the next few days as well.
Why? Well this last week I was out at my parents visiting for thanksgiving. It's a fairly long trip, so It's a full days drive both ways. And today I just got a call in that I have a contract for monday, so I'm driving back down tomorrow, and will be gone for around a week. This means no more writing for a while.
I'm sitting here trying to think of how I should handle this. I might not post anything tonight and then do a long chapter when I get back. I'm not sure. I'll have to see how things go.
Sorry for the delay.
Well do whatever you need to do Susland (Jakin). (If anything it might be for the best cause then when you get back you'll be able to advance the story with the November 1st announcement) (also sorry for the brackets I'm not sure if your speaking in RP character or not).
Everything on this blog is OOC. It's the one public place I post OOC, that's why I use it so much. Susland is too injured right now to take a contract although...
I think I just had a brilliant idea for why he is going to be gone for so long. There are easy jobs in exploration after all... Hmm.
Dude, you got a contract? ALL RIGHT, GO FOR IT!
Seriously, get the hell out there! We've been worried about your job situation.

Oh okay. Sorry for my confusion. I didn't know you actually did that for real.
You know I'm curious how does one get into exploration surveying thing?

Family business. I did my first contract at 14 when my parents took me on a job and the crew ended up 4 men short. They let me help out and I did fairly well so from then on I did it during my summers when I was in school. This means I am really experienced. Unfortunately not much work in recent years.
The only other way is to get someone to teach you. find someone who does it and get hired on to a crew. That would be the best way to learn I think.
I should point out that almost everything I write about in LP:EO is based on experiences I have actually had IRL. From the hospital scene (which was a foot in the ax a few years back), to the fights (no knives, but I have been attacked and beaten up walking down the street once), to Susland's work. This story is based around writing what you know. I have been told that my life is pretty crazy and unbelievable by friends before.

I can see why.
Your life sounds a bit like the old Pen and Paper adventure campaigns I used to write (well minus the magic, advanced science fiction tech, hostile aliens, and of course getting attacked every five minutes)
I'm actually surprised to find out that there are for lack of a better term "explorers" in this day and age. I thought that went out of style over a century ago.
Anyway I must say I am honored to know one.
