I saw theexhaustedbrony do one of these, and I thought I might do one as well. So, ask me anything, and I will answer.
...can I even call myself this if I quit smoking years ago?

How do you come up with some of your story ideas?
What do you do in your free time when you're not writing?

That's a very hard question to answer, but I'll take a crack at it.
I love fables, old movies, urban legends and fairy tales.
Letters From the Equestrian Decency Association was inspired from the fact that there are two ponies that share the exact same style of body. Pipe Down, and Mr. Waddle. Pipe Down's cutie mark is a pipe, and Mr. Waddle's cutie mark is a bubble pipe. While on a caffeine high, I wondered if they were in fact the same pony. The story ultimately didn't take that direction, but that was the idea that started it.
Pinkie Pie and the Agressive Salespony is just a borderline how-to guide of how to buy a car, but done Pinkie Pie style.
Sweetie Belle Makes a Drawing was inspired by the common frustration felt by artists who are just starting out.
Play for Me is an extrapolation of a common thematic element in horror films; the villains love classical music. I took that idea, and made it my villain's entire motivation.
Its sequel Blueblood's Pets took this theme and layered another on top of it. The tendency of captors to dehumanize their prisoners. The way Blueblood 'trains' his musicians is similar to how I train dogs, but with a sadistic overtone.
I Bled for You is essentially a commentary on how war veterans are treated.
Was there another story that you would like for me to detail?
Do you smoke a pipe or other tobacco based item?
Do you like anime? If so, what series or genre?

I have a very large collection of books, and I like to go on road trips. I'm also, as I have been told, an amazing cook. I also recently acquired an espresso machine, and have developed a fondness for cappuccinos. I run five kilometers when the weather is fair, and I have been know to do a little woodworking. I also repair electronics for extra scratch, and so that I won't ever have to buy a new television. I do some basic sewing, repairs and alterations, and I'm thinking about making a scarf.
Oh, I also enjoy smoking. But I won't bore you with the details of my tobacco habit.

I have had about a dozen different pipes, but my personal preference now leans towards a design based off the Calumet. I find that the draw is significantly cooler, and the even intense burning aids in the formation of smoke rings.
I also roll my own cigarettes for when I'm out and about. My machine has gunked up lately though, and I'll be using pipe until I can find the time to properly clean it.
I enjoy cigars as well. My preference is for Dominican tobacco.
As far as anime goes; It has been a while since I was able to sit down and just watch a series for any length of time but I have enjoyed Cowboy Bebop, Rurouni Kenshin, and Black Butler.
>But I won't bore you with the details of my tobacco habit.
>I have had about a dozen pipes...
Lies!
Question more for the viewers: Judging from how he speaks, where would you assume Tobacco is from?

Nonsense, that post was nowhere near long enough to be boring.
