And so... This account draws it's final breath. · 3:28pm Sep 30th, 2013
"Electroshock70 on Fimfiction" is a symbol of a bygone age.
Of delight and enthrallment in a work of art, and the creativity that sprung forth from it.
Of immense pleasure in a like-minded community and their creative works which likewise came from the same wellspring.
Yet bygone it is.
The creative soul has little to work with from it's own repertoire, so it feeds and nurtures itself on the works of greater creators before it.
The works of older siblings.
Astro Boy.
Mega-Man.
The countless sources of inspiration from public libraries.
And yes, even My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
The creative soul consumes and recycles these works until it has mastered the ways of story telling...
Then it grows up into adulthood and moves on.
No longer does it need the content of greater works before it to make something worthy of note. Only the inspiration brought forth from such works and the resulting creativity that comes from within the mind.
It pushes and forces it's way through it's adult life with new confidence, strength and vigor that it did not have before, ever reaching towards the mark of being noteworthy and inspiring in itself.
Some creative souls take longer to mature.
Some never do, and some even die prematurely, as their owner has given up on creation for whatever reason, be it optimistic or cynical.
However, it is time that I've accepted that mine has matured, as few before and after have or will.
With the death of an account, I announce that I have left active participation in the fandom, remaining as a silent, passive entity who accepts MLP:FIM for what it is: An enjoyable kid's show not beyond flaws.
I do not believe any show deserves whatever massive attention it gets from it's fans, even though it is nice to see that it has struck a cord in many people.
Thus, I am vacating, but not deleting this account, out of respect to those who enjoy the fandom and all it's aspects.
My deep involvement with MLP:FIM is over.
I don't hate it, and I certainly have plans to keep watching, provided it's track record for quality stays the same...
But how will my creative soul find the satisfaction it craves if I do not make that which is my own, and purely so?
Let's let bygones be bygones. Any final notes or questions will certainly be read and answered, out of respect to my fans' continuing desires to follow my actions, despite a significantly less portion of MLP:FIM content.
Goodbye. I'll cherish the memory, but there comes a time when one has to move on.
