[UPDATE] Progress on Chapter 4 of "Metamorphosis" · 3:09am Sep 24th, 2013

I'M NOT DEAD (YET)!
Though I might be stone dead in a moment . . .

Sorry about the lack of updates on "Metamorphosis" everyone (as well as the dearth of additional My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and Super Robot mash-up blog posts). Over the last month I've ended one job, cleaned out an apartment, moved across three states, and started a new job. As a result of all of these events, hobbies unfortunately had to be put to the wayside.

Another problem I've run into is that Chapter 4 has grown to be a bit of a bear. In order to keep the length consistent with my other chapters while also maintaining a reasonable pacing, I'm finding that I may need to break it into two parts in order to have everything happen that I want to without rushing through it. Rest assured, I am still working on Chapter 4 as well as the rest of this story, as I have a clear idea of where I want this fic to go. All I ask is some patience and understanding as I strive to make this chapter (and those that follow) the best that I can.

In the meantime, here's a sneak preview of another story idea that's been percolating in the back of my mind lately. If it gets enough good feedback, well, maybe I'll actually write it . . .

Long before the princesses of the sun and the moon took rule of Equestria,
the three pony tribes maintained a hard, unsteady peace between them.

However, unlike the legend of Heart Warming's Eve,
it was not the magic of friendship that keep this peace intact;
Rather, it was the machinations of a secret society: The Order of the Golden Scale

Founded by earth ponies centuries before the creation of Equestria,
The Order of the Golden Scale was created to bring balance by
punishing unicorns and pegasi that used their magic to abuse those without such powers.

Now, in the modern Equestrian age, the The Order continues its work,
using specially trained agents to police incidents of magic abuse and bring about justice.

Their newest recruit may be their greatest asset yet . . .

Trixie Lulamoon, once known as The Great and Powerful, has fallen on hard times.

Originally an insufferable braggart, she allowed the shadows of pride and envy
to cloud her heart and plant a weed of evil within her.

That weed grew, spread, and bore bitter fruit,
leading her to perform acts which cost Trixie her pride, her identity, and all of her magical powers.

Now, Trixie walks the path of redemption.

Forced into joining The Order, Trixie travels the world under the guise of "The Magnificent Trixie,"
but in secret works to bring abusers of magic to justice at The Order's behest.

While lacking magic of her own, she has been trained by The Order
to use her skills as a magician and showpony against those she seeks to bring to justice.

However, her greatest skill is likely the one she chooses least to acknowledge,
and the skill which convinced The Order to force her redemption.

For Trixie Lulamoon is the answer to the eternal question:

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of ponies?"
