Review: Waiting · 1:50am Sep 21st, 2013
Alright, so every now and then I will be doing a review of a story I happen to like(or dislike, on the rare occasion).
WARNING: SPOILERS MAY BE INCLUDED. READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Story: Waiting
Description: Celestia has spent a millennium keeping her emotions to herself in favour of a tight rule over Equestria.
Now that there are stirrings in her heart, is she willing to open it?
Review: Beautifully written. Absolutely riveting. The fact that we could see everything in third person, while still maintaining Celestia's view, made it even more wonderful. I don't know why, but I just prefer writing like that.(Don't get me wrong I LOVE first person.)
Celestia is shown as an actual person(I mean, pony), who only acts serious in public, and constantly has to remind herself that her royal duties and perks are blessings, and that anypony else would love to be her. The fact that she acknowledges it, but constantly has to remind herself indirectly states that she isn't perfect, like other ponies make her out to be, and that she knows it.
It delves into Luna's relationship with Celestia, and takes it to a whole new level. Normally, fics talk about how the two sisters never talk to another, hold resentment towards one another, or they never acknowledge it whatsoever, so it's refreshing to see a change in pace.
I really prefer that you read it.
