Chapter 3 of My Little Ranma is up. I'm happy to get this one out of the way as it means the (rather long) introductory arc to the story is finally done. From the next chapter onwards, the shenanigans with the MLP cast begins.
Some notes for chapter 3:
I threw out a sequence where Ranma ends up taking Little Strongheart captive - the idea had merit, but it just refused to work. The foal is the substitute - I could do with some suggestions for an apple family unicorn name for future use.
The ravine scene is based on Native American buffalo hunting using buffalo jumps. To keep in the spirit of MLP they all fall in a river rather an breaking their legs/necks from the fall.
The royal guard turn up to clean up the mess after all the action (go the cops are useless trope). The heroine of the day is Derpy - it's always something silly that takes Ranma down.
A few blatant film references in this chapter, I'd be surprised if most people don't work them out.
I suspect that it will take more than 9 days for the next chapter to be released as I feel it's the lynchpin chapter for the rest of the story so more time will need to be spent on it. Ideas abound, but making them work nicely together drives me nuts.
