…in fact it’s going to be upon us in literally ten days’ time, which is ever so slightly terrifying o_O
Apropos of that, I’m just gonna post up a short thing here in case you wanted to get me something nice. I mean, I know that’s not gonna apply to everyone who follows this blog at all, but I know it applies to some of you at least.
So! Here we go. What I would really love for my birthday is…
Art!
Specifically, I would love more than anything to see some scenes rendered from the first pony fic I wrote, Sketchy Salad Symphony, which you can find here on FimFiction. So if you’re artistically inclined or you know someone who is, and you’d like to show your appreciation, please go right ahead :)
Funds.
I don’t like asking for money for stuff, but as a currently unemployed person with a passion for music, and with music being an expensive passion, I’m left with little alternative. If you have some bits burning a hole in your pocket and you'd like to show your appreciation, toss some in my tip jar. I can use it for getting my hands on some better equipment for the things I love to do. And that rather relatedly brings us onto…
Hardware?
This is the last thing on the list as it’s also the most expensive for if you happen to be in the mood to splash out a bit on getting me something nice. There are two rather expensive pieces of kit I’d love to get my hands on currently, but due to the aforementioned jobless and penniless situation, both are out of reach.
I’m wanting to get my hands on both a (*sighs at the name*) YouRock Guitar ver. 2 and a Leapmotion controller. Either would be very much appreciated, as the YRG would let me write tabs for people to learn from simply by playing (not to mention it’d give me a whole new range of creative opportunities for my music), and the controller would similarly allow me to do some awesome new stuff music-wise and art-wise.
This is one of the seldom few times I’ll openly ask folks out there for these things, and only because my birthday’s coming up so it’s a valid excuse :p
Again I re-iterate, don’t go feeling like you must buy me something simply because I’m asking. If you’d rather not or you can’t afford to, don’t. The best gift I could ask for on my birthday is, after all, the friends I already have :) Anything beyond that is icing on the cake to make a sweet day all the sweeter :p

Unfortunately I'm in a similar financial situation to yourself (and besides which I'm a mean bastard :P) so the most I can offer you is goodwill for your approaching day of one-year-olderness (plus a standing offer to platoon on WoT whenever we aren't just focussed on grinding stuff).
