12 years ago today, the Twin Towers were hit by two hijacked planes. Today is a day to remember all of those men and women who's lives were lost and to those brave men and women who lost their lives trying to save people trapped. We must also not forget those who died by the other two planes that were also hijacked. One hit the pentagon, and one flew into an open field.
I was only 5 years old when this happened, so I don't remember much. I live in New York, so I knew people who were in those towers. My aunt was lucky enough to be able to escape, but one of my close friend's father was not. I don't remember him that well, but I do remember that he was a kind and thoughtful man.
My prayers and thoughts go out to all those who have suffered.
