Before I say ANYTHING else, I extend my thanks to Midnight Dancer for being such an enormous help with the fight scene in the chapter you're now seeing. She was so nice to offer to help, and I think she did a fantastic job. I just hope she doesn't mind if I pull her in for future chapters, of which, if this timeline I've mapped out is anything to go by, there will be many. I've also added her name to the description in recognition of her valiant efforts in the realm of ponywords.
With my thanks out of the way, onto the main point. Something I've been thinking of doing since I first started writing the story. I know most of you are probably unfamiliar with Digimon (at least those of you who didn't hit the story BECAUSE of it being Digimon), and even those of you who know Digimon might not recognize a few of the names I'm throwing around in the story. That's why, for the foreseeable future, I think it's a good idea to put out a bit of a visual dictionary for the story, updating it with every passing chapter.
First off, a bit of a legend. The "levels" are their stages of evolution. Those rank from Baby, In-Training, Rookie, Champion, Ultimate and Mega. The "attributes" dictate the sort of data a Digimon is made up of, the most common being Vaccine (good), Data (neutral), and Virus (bad), but it's not TOO important to the characters. The "types" are very broad physical descriptors of a Digimon species, which isn't that important except for archival purposes. The "partners" are far more obvious and far more crucial.
Alrighty then, starting this thing off:
DORIMON/DORUMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Data
Type: Lesser/Beast
Partner: Princess Twilight Sparkle
- Dorimon is a wild spirit that hates being tamed. It can charge forward at a quick pace, but it can't maneuver or turn; however, its sharpened ears serve as horns to do some damage. It uses its Metal Drop move to pelt enemies with tiny iron beads.
- DORUmon is a carrier of the X-Antibody, the vaccine to a virus engineered by Yggdrasill to wipe out most of the population of an overcrowded Digital World. The Digicore interface on its head may indicate that it's a prototype Digimon from before the Digital World was discovered. It has an innate and powerful combat instinct, and it may bear the capability of evolving into something truly great someday. It uses Metal Cannon to fire iron spheres from its mouth, pelting enemies even at full ramming speed.
SHAOMON/LABRAMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Vaccine
Type: Lesser/Beast
Partner: Applejack
- Shaomon is a very friendly creature that forms attachments quickly, thought to be an artificial creation that can't exceed Rookie form. It can use Putto to ward off evil with a high-frequency cry.
- The intended final form of an artificial creation, Labramon is intentionally modeled after a dog. It's intensely loyal to its partner and will protect them at any cost. It uses its Retribark to generate a hyper-oscillated soundwave, and its Cure Liqueur restores and optimizes the data of weakened Digimon.
KYOKYOMON/RYUDAMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Vaccine
Type: Lesser/Beast
Partner: Rainbow Dash
- Kyokyomon's lengthy body can extend to nine times its size in a forward charge. It drifts idly through the air, paddling with its hands and feet. It defends itself with Metal Straw by firing iron spikes from its mouth.
- Much like DORUmon, Ryudamon is an X-Antibody carrier with an archaic Digicore interface on its forehead. Its movements are nimble despite its bulky Bushido armor, and it possesses an indomitable willpower and the latent potential to evolve into something truly special. It uses Kabutogaeshi to deflect and counter enemy attacks, and strikes with an iron sword fired from its mouth with Iaijin.
TANEMON/PALMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Data
Type: Bulb/Plant
Partner: Rarity
- Tanemon is a very timid creature; when it senses someone approaching, it burrows into the ground and leaves only ifs leafy bud exposed, providing camouflage from any Digimon so long as they're not hungry for plants. Its only other line of defense is a fairly pathetic Bubble Blow.
- Palmon feeds itself with photosynthesis and roots itself to absorb nutrients from the ground. Its flower smells nice when it's happy, but when it feels threatened, the scent sours in a Stinky Stench attack to ward off foes. Its primary weapon is its vine-like fingers, using Poison Ivy to ensnare and paralyze opponents.
GUMMYMON/TERRIERMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Data
Type: Lesser/Beast
Partner: Fluttershy
- Gummymon is a cheerful and energetic creature with a soft, squishy body. Its usual defense mechanism is a Double Bubble attack, but it can also utilize the horn on its head to headbutt opponents.
- Terriermon is a bit of an enigma, with a calm, relaxed demeanor masking an eagerness for and adeptness at fighting. It's not known where its evolution will take it, but what is known is that most Terriermon are born with a twin. It can use Bunny Blast to shoot a green fire from its mouth, and it twirls in the air to propel small cyclones at opponents with Terrier Tornado.
WANYAMON/GAOMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Data
Type: Lesser/Beast
Partner: Pinkie Pie
- Wanyamon is a sort of amalgamation of the data of several domesticated animals. Its movements are shockingly swift, but it won't run away if shown affection. Its Smile Fang attack lowers an opponent's guard with a disarming smile, then takes them by surprise with a sharp bite.
- Gaomon fights like an out-fighter boxer, keeping a distance and controlling the pace of the fight with quick jabs that wear foes down. Its gloves seem to cover up claws that are still growing in. It has a number of techniques utilizing its boxing skills, but its best is the Gao Rush, a flurry of sharp, swift jabs that knock the wind out of its foes.
CYCLOMON
Level: Champion
Attribute: Virus
Type: Dragon Man
Partner: none
- Cyclomon possesses a massive right arm, and a missing eye from a lost fight with Leomon. Where there was once a warrior's pride, it now only feels a burning desire for revenge and bloodshed. It extends its overdeveloped arm like a rope with Arm Bomber, and its Hyper Heat technique scorches and melts everything it touches.
(Also, I KNOW his American name is "Cyclonemon," but his original name is actually indicative of him being a cyclops. I won't be straying often from dub names, but this is one point where I will.)
YAAMON/IMPMON
Level: In-Training/Rookie
Attribute: Virus
Type: Lesser/Imp
Partner: Trixie Lulamoon
- Yaamon isn't well understood; the most that's known is that it's the immature form of Impmon.
- Impmon is a creature that revels in malice and mischief, often pulling pranks and shorting out electrical devices. It also has a proud disposition, standing up against anyone who would treat it as a crony, but holds a deep feeling of loneliness. It uses Inferno Funnel to summon elementals of fire and ice to fling at opponents, and its Night of Fire lets it hurl flames of darkness from its hands.

1342692 thank you for clearing up the confusion is was haveing trouble putting faces with the names of the digimon the only ones i figured out easily where impmon and fluttershys partner
