I've not been entirely idle. · 1:38pm Sep 9th, 2013
Yeah, updates on Intimate Details are few and far between, and I've been 'getting started' on Beyond the Crystal Mirror for, what, three months now? Yeah, yeah, I'm not as prolific as I was way back when in the days of The Lost Chapters and Melody's Tale. I tried to keep with the whole 'chapter-a-week' criteria, but we all see how well that's gone over. And what's more, I'm debating taking yet another break. *sigh*
Still. These 'down-times' haven't been entirely unproductive. I've begun writing the rough draft (Emphasis on 'rough') of a non-pony story. This one'll be my take on a hard 'Fantasy' world, complete with magic and whatnot.
But I'll let the words speak for themselves.
I'll link all five chapters (Four, really, plus the prologue) below. It'll be in gdocs, and comments are welcome.
Fair warning: It's a non-pony story, so if you're expecting my typical work, click with caution.
Prologue
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Chapter 4
The working title of the story is 'Mage' and is about a group of humans who unlock a deep and hidden potential within themselves, called 'The Arcane.' They're granted incredible power, and use that power to police the warring kingdoms of man. There'll be intrigue, deception, magic, combat, blood, sex, and various and assorted other Fantasy trappings. Oh, and dragons. We can't forget dragons.
Provided I get good feedback, I'll happily share more chapters in the future.
Sincerely,
-Loyal
P.S. Waiting for word back from two more prereaders before Intimate Details sequel gets the go-ahead. If I don't hear from them by Wednesday, I'll be going on the word of the two who have already greenlighted the fic. If you're a prereader and reading this, and you haven't sent me some correspondence, please check your e-mail.
P.P.S. This is why I dislike using more than one or two pre-readers. They're terribly unreliable and never return your e-mails >.>
I would've been a WONDERful prereader But can't wait for it to be finished! I'll definitely read your other one as soon as I can, bit busy right now, though, for the first time in ever.
High fantasy is one of the only things I can motivate myself to write. It's also one of the main things I read.
