Howdy howdy~ Long time no chat! Before I start here, I just want to give a quick shout out to the tumblr comic blog Ask Green Lantern Fluttershy. It's a very cute blog with an interesting premise. There's also a very nice artist behind the wheel, so that's a plus too! Go check it out! I assure you, I'm sharing this link with ya'll because of it's overall quality.
... It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the artist drew Cogwill's head once.

Now then, onto the actual meat! Well I'm sorry to say this, but my summer vacation (if you could even CALL it that...) is now officially over. I'll be returning to my college courses in the coming weeks, while balancing reduced work hours. What this means is that I'll have less time to write, which stinks because I did NOT get to write as much as I wanted to this summer, even though I made that vow earlier in it that I would be able to pick up the pace. Most disappointing is the fact that I removed A Cog in the Machine from its hiatus recently only to now debate putting it back into one, which is something I don't want to do. I AM still working on the next chapter, despite school starting up again, but the progress has been slow and, admittedly, painful as I'm having a hard time nailing down the tone of an upcoming scene. Once I'm able to clear my mind I know things will start to move smoothly again, but now that I have even less time to play around with my story... well... I'm very sorry.
I know there are stories out there that amazingly update even SLOWER then A Cog in the Machine, sometimes updating only once or twice a year, but those stories usually have large, loyal followings around them that are willing to wait those long stretches because they are confident that they'll receive quality. I don't think I've quite earned that level of respect yet with my own works, so until the day comes where I am able to update at a regular pace I'm going keep apologizing for my ineptitude ^_^

when I started mine I got 20 thousand words down in the first day, 'on another note editing takes ages' but since I sent you the last email I've only managed to write 800 words its bloody strange.

Oh God THIS. This FOREVER. When something is fresh and new, where there's no pressure to "one-up" yourself or maintain a certain level of quality, our brains seem to be more willing to cooperate with us and allow us to do what we want. Maintaining that pace, however, can be super hard when we start thinking things like "it's not as good as the last chapter" or "I need to do better."
