...I might actually go through with it.
Mind you, I wouldn't make it part of "My Little Lantern". It would be a different story for me to submit later on.
The thought process behind this is twofold:
I don't want to offend anyone who doesn't want to read about zombie ponies - that is first and foremost.
Then there is the fact that some readers have been pestering me through PMs to have Equestria go through Blackest Night.
I guess they enjoy it, or something, I dunno.
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated on this.

I think the entire Blackest Night storyline may be a bit TOO MUCH for a tale like this one.
I mean there's scary and there's actual "living dead zombie scary that would make you cry and wet yourself" type scary.
So if I were you, I would sort of hold off on an idea like this until the whole Green Lantern thing is settle down.
Maybe form a bit of a lantern team ups adventures with the other colored lanterns before the events of Blackest Night.
I mean I'm just saying that this event may be a bit too much scary, even for me.

if i were to do...this story line...it would be quite a ways off into the future, and it would be a different story submission, for those who wouldn't want to read such a thing.

I read some of the original Blackest Night stories and tie ins and as I can recall, it did seem kind of creepy and too freak out scary to me.
So that's why I'm a bit of against this type of idea.
Now I fully admit that I never read any of the Blackest Night issues, so I could be totally wrong here. I'll also admit that whether I read a MLP based Blackest Night series would depend a lot on how it's written. I certainly don't mind dark stories, but when it comes to graphic violence or using the story as an excuse to off ponies right and left that's when I go... meh, not interested.
BUT it seems to me from what I do know about Blackest Night was that a lot of the draw seems to be the fact that it wasn't just the dead coming back to 'life', but that it was dead heroes and villians and other support characters. People that the heroes knew and in some cases cared about. And since outside of a two second line during the song in Hearts and Hooves Day death hasn't even been touched on in FiM I'm not sure if a pony based Blackest Night would have such a kick. Unless it was like Applejack's parents, or Fluttershy's or Rainbow Dash's or Scootaloo's. (You notice how all the main characters in the series have at least one family member we've meet, except for the Pegisi?)
That being said... If you feel you've got a good idea for a story and aren't just doing it because 'the fans' want you to, then I say go for it. But I do agree that it should be a separate story from My Little Lantern.

you're right about what you said about Blackest Night. it was family members of the Lanterns, mostly, as well as the heroes and villains, that rose from the grave. though i'm not sure i like the thought of using characters that aren't canon...i guess i should consider that for a bit.
i do believe i have a good story. i think i should at least wait for all the lanterns of Equestria to be revealed (and/or thought up) before i even consider writing the first chapter of it. as well as figure out the first black lantern pony to show up...
and for anyone who thinks i'd be cruel for subjecting FiM characters to Blackest Night, remember this:
after the Blackest Night comes the Brightest Day.

I have read BN and enjoyed it so here are my thoughts:
Don't have the BN hit Equestria itself......remember the Black Lanterns and Nekron were targeting specific people (mainly Lanterns of the various Corps and their allies) so Equestria can be spared the BN.
I suggest instead having Ponies who are Lanterns participate in the various events of the BN (like the siege of Oa, the fights on the various Lantern homeworlds, the final fight on Earth), and tell the story from their POV. You can detail how these horrific events affect these ponies.
