A year of remembrance, Behemoths, and Bronyhood... · 5:53am Aug 19th, 2013
Well it was a couple of days ago when I realized that it's been a complete year since I joined this writing community and since I've been part of the fandom.
I joined August 3rd, and I guess I'm a couple... several days late to realize it, but... all I can say to you guys is thanks!
Really, thanks for being there, reading my stories (even if they're bad), correcting my errors, and being generally awesome followers.
So that's why I'm going to start something new: I'm quitting TF2.
Yeah... ever wonder why that Behemoth sequel was delayed a year? Authors can pretty much start and end writing whenever the hell they want, and nobody can tell 'em what the hell to do, but... this is wrong. The sequel's just sitting there, unfinished and waiting to get out there into the big, scary world. And it was never going to get out there because I'm too lazy.
Yeah...
Let me explain: Between senior year and the looming shadow of colleges, the quickest way to get rid of my stress was (surprisingly, not masturbation) but TF2 and writing. But time's short on my end, with only an hour or two of rest. So I had a choice... TF2(which is pretty much instant gratification), or Writing (which takes a while before the writer starts to get any joy out of writing his story).
Guess what I chose?
God I sound like a wife-beater. "I'll change, babe. I promise I won't abuse you anymore". I sound pathetic, eh?
And now, I'm starting over. Addiction's a bitch to get over, but I'm going to start now. And damn it, I'm going to keep it that way.
So... I'm going to start giving my crap away. None of my heavy stuff (i'm just getting into the shotgun-heavy role) or my ham, but the rest can go. The few hats I have, my scrap, my festive huntsman.
But I'm going to have to ask you to answer something. I can't just give stuff away, that's just not how I am!
What book is this quote from?
“But you can't start. Only a baby can start. You and me - why, we're all that's been. The anger of a moment, the thousand pictures, that's us. This land, this red land, is us; and the flood years and the dust years and the drought years are us. We can't start again.”
Answer in the comments, then add me on Steam. A link to my profile is on my author's page.
If you answer correctly, or at least come vaguely close to it, I'll give you something.
The first one to answer correctly in the comments gets this to celebrate my Changeling fetish obsession:
Then the hats and stranges go...
I'll check back tomorrow.
Grapes of Wrath.
I'll try to add you tomorrow, it's late here.
You said you were quitting a long time ago!
You... you... gave me your Scout items...
lol
Video game addiction is a pain to fight off. I applaud you for managing to tear yourself away from it.
Welp, Google says "John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath"... this was just a "who googles this first" contest.
Not that I even play TF2

Quite sad that I was expecting some honesty about whether actually knowing the quote, isn't it?

Well... it's time to get rid of the rest of my items lol!
Ah, TF2. Devourer of precious time.
It's a heady cocktail of TF2 and emulated PS1 games that have pretty much killed my writing stone dead.

Amen to that.
FFFFF... Have any stuff left? I hnng'd at that festive huntsman.
