Bob's Burgers. One of the best shows ever. · 8:12pm Aug 13th, 2013
As you have read on the title, I think Bob's Bugers is one of the best shows out there. Animated or Not.
The show already have 3 seasons and it's going for a fourth, and here I am asking to myself, how could I ignored such a gem for this long.
Maybe it was the charater's designs that initially put me off when I saw images of the show, and also the title didn't seem that attractive enough and because of that I feel like a missed something truly special.
I heve only seen the first 5 episodes so far but I can tell this show is magnificent.
The writing is clever, the jokes are always hit for me and left me laughing so loud, everyone in my house had to ask me what was wrong with me. The answer? I missed Bob's Burgers and now it was time to rectify such sin.
All the character are amazing; though they fit classic tropes from similar comedy shows based on family interaction, they felt so fresh and unique.
Bob the straight man; the everyday man father of three dysfunctional children, whose only dream is to attend and keep running his burger shop. He is a man set in his ways and every episode he learns something new about life, his family or himself, and it doesn't feel forced, the storylines feel smoth and the character changes fell organic. It also helps that he is like a tonned down version of Randy Marsh. Bob Belcher had become one of my favorite cartoon dad of all time; alongside Homer Simpson, Hank Hill, Stan Pines (though he isn't a father he still a paternal figure) and Randy Marsh.
Linda Belcher, the clasic supporting wife, who loves her children to death despite their behavior that would drive any other parent mad. Though she always agree with whatever Bob wants, Linda still satnds her ground and matter she believe in, but still shows she understands Bob side of the argument. It is so refreshing watching the relationship between Bob and Linda, it feels real, a marriage that lasted this long because they understand eachother and love isother as well. It's not like Homer and Marge marriage, which still stands because of the conveniance of the status quo. If it weren't for that Homer and Marge would've divorced a long time ago.
Tina Belcher, the eldest sister, she is the ackward teen, which social and body insecurities, which maybe result of her probably been autistic though her parent's claim she's not. (who knows, besides I'm still at the fifth episode). I feel that many can relate to her in some level, everybody has to pass thru that stage of life where you feel funny, your body changes, and your child-like mind is growing to acccept the realities of the future and adult life. She is an interesting character and as long she doesn't become a "meg" it will be all fine.
Gene Belcher, the middle son, and the character who border the line between entretaining and annoying. He is kind of the "dumb son" character ala Chris, except more strident. Not much to say about him except that some of his throwaway jokes/comments are really funny although a bit annoying.
"My grandparents were alive during the Prohibition; now this is how they sound when they have sex!"
Louise Belcher, oh my, Louise Belcher. The youngest kid. She...she is awesome. I have a fascination with her kind of character, "The crazy" kind. For those who have seen Gravity Falls, she is like Mabel (even voiced by the same person) except crazier. She is manipulative, she gets away with thing nobody could, she is...she's.... how to put it. It like if Deadpool had a Daughter that was a crazy as him. There is no other way to put it. And I love her for that.
In short, Bob's burger is a great show and if you haven't seen it yet, take my recommendation and watch it. You won't regret it.

^^^ This, but Gene kinda feels like a cross between Bobby because of weirdness and Chris, plus Bob is probably my second favorite character, second to Tina, just because she's just the most different of them all and I never thought she was autisitic, just anti social and a touch Macbre
I really dont like Linda though, I dont know what it is, she just seems like a generic and boring cartoon adult cartoon wife like Francine, and I just hate her glasses (don't tell anyone, but they remind me of rarity's glasses, which I hate as well, I just don't know why)
1. Tina
2. Bob
3.Louise
4.Gene
5.Linda

Mine is
1. Bob
2. Loueis
3. Gene
4. Tina
5. Linda
I agree that Linda isn't as funny or memorable, but she still a good character, and serves as an equalizer for the family and Bob.
If Bob isn't the one going crazy then its Linda. I just love their marriage.
It's a good show, but Bob's burgers will never be as good as Good Burger

I'm guessing a sir such as yourself is already keenly aware of H. Jon Benjamin's OTHER masterpiece of a show, and the 'crossover' they both had earlier this year?

I was planning a blog on Archer, but for time constraints I had to put it off for a while...
