My Little Pony: Friendship is Knowledge

Alright, so I've been in the mood to watch MLP tonight and after just a couple of episodes in, I happened to see Fluttershy jump into that stream next to her house and then appear under her bridge to give a family of ferrets some fish. And it got me thinking about all of those Human In Equestria fics where the ponies are all afraid of the human(s) because of said character's carnivorous traits.

    .hack updates

Okay, so I've got a clearer idea on how I want to proceed with my story ".hack//Secrets of Equestria".

Updates are still going to be kind of slow, especially with the holidays right around the corner, but with my new Surface tablet that I've got, I should be able to work on my stuff more regularly.

That said, I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a happy Holiday!

Update on "The Rising Elements: Shield's Line"

Alright, so I mentioned that part one in our series "The Rising Elements" is called "Shield's Line" so I feel I need to update you guys since we've hyped this project a little (truthfully, I'm actually getting tired of seeing Homer Simpson on the front page.)

Upcoming project: "Rising Elements" · 1:29pm Jul 19th, 2013

Greetings, everyone.

I would like to start by saying that the future story is not about the Elements of Harmony, though some of them will have a prominent role in it. That said, I would like to talk about the story that I've been dropping so many hints for.

It involves the Pure Elements, that which govern our world and of which we are all born. These Elements are Fire, Water, Wind and Earth. Now I know you're probably thinking 'Oh, we've seen ponies use those things before it's nothing special', but I doubt you've seen them like this.

While this story will be about four ponies who can manipulate the Element of which they are assigned to, it goes so much deeper than that. It's not simply about the use of the Elements in magic, but about all of the ways we see these Elements: Physical, Spiritual, Psychological, perhaps even a tad Emotional.

I.e., How would an individual react being born of, say, Fire? The easiest solution would be to make them easily angered as well as hot-headed and reckless in a situation. But a flame is not always an angry blaze, is it? Sometimes it is small, sometimes it is calm. But let's try something else: a flame is not always a literal fire. Have you ever heard the saying "Burn with a passion"? Or better yet, let's take a look at the Spiritual aspect of flame: a warm hearth, to keep the cold and dark of the Night at bay.

But enough about that, let's have a look at the world itself.

In this story, there are four ponies that are selected at birth by the Elemental Spirits, entities which have been around since the forging of the world, to act as a champion for the world when needed. Such ponies, when they "Awaken" to their potential, are given the title of "Envoy" and are entrusted to act in the name of the Elemental Spirit that chose them. These ponies possess near limitless power, but they can only access it in it's entirety when the world faces annihilation. They are the protectors of the world; they are the first, last and only line of defense against World's End.

If you've been reading my stories, then you have already seen two such examples: Searing Shield, the Envoy of Fire and Diamond Dust, the Envoy of Water. However, Searing Shield will not be making an appearance in the story I have planned, save for a kind of... after-story; instead it will star her father, the Envoy of Fire that came before her.

It's kind of daunting, really, planning this story out. It's massive, spanning around five or six individual stories.

Anyway, that's all for this entry, better get back to work on uploading my stories.

See ya next time!
