    Upcoming story + Primalcorn's departure

UPDATE: Zontargs is a lifesaver. He sent me both stories...I can't thank him enough =)

    Hiya. Spitzy here.

I've had a story in my head for nearly a year now, and I've finally summed up the courage to write it.

That story is a DashFire clopfic entitled The Visit.

It will be set after the events in Sonic Rainboom, where Spitfire makes a surprise call to Rainbow's house.

I'll write most of it tomorrow, but I'll only submit it once I've wrote the first three chapters. Hopefully it'll be up next week.

So yeah - onto the second thing I wanted to talk about.

If you're a fan of DashFire, then you probably read a story called Family Mares.

The author of it was called Primalcorn - or Corny, as he liked to be called. He also had a brilliant unfinished story up called A Little Piece Of Heaven.

Last week, he decided to leave the site, which was quite sad in its own respect, although he hadn't posted for a while.

The thing that ticked me of though was how he deleted ALL of his stories. Really?

I'm not afraid to admit that Family Mares was my favourite fanfic, and that the first time I read it, it stunned me completely.

It had everything you could want from a story. I LOVED it - but alas, it has been deleted from the site, and my attempts to find it elsewhere have been in vain.

When he left, he put up a blog post where he talked about Jesus and how his stories "were not a positive influence".

How were they "not a positive influence"? They didn't promote anything illegal or questionable. Just references to things that happen in a modern-day society.

He did mention how he was scared that "someone from his church could see what he had been posting" and how he could be "out of a job".

I'm not really sure how he thinks that his employer would look at this site and find his profile (and to the comment that he used his real name, I don't remember him doing so, and if he did, he simply could have removed his name, not the ENTIRE story).

The thing that got me most though, was this. After commenting that he started writing "to spread the light of Jesus", he states:

"There. That's the reason I began writing in the first place. Now do you see why it aches for me to sit down and type some stupid story about ponies? Those stories that I've written are completely valueless. All this time, I could have been telling you the beautiful truth that Jesus Christ loves you and wants you to get to know Him, but instead I've been wasting my time (and your time) writing about ponies."

I couldn't believe it. I'm told, very frequently in fact, that "Jesus loves me" (Due to the fact I go to a Catholic college, although I'm an Athiest). I'm sure he does, but the stories were a lot better than that.

Does he really think that we "wasted our time" reading his stories?

I can't believe how much time and effort he has just thrown away.

And I can't believe I'll never read my favourite story ever again.

If I "wasted my time" reading Family Mares, I sure as hell don't regret any minute of it.
