Status of "Proofreading Clopfics Sucks" · 1:07am Jul 15th, 2013
I've been getting tons of people asking about this, so I'm just going to make a blog post about it to explain things in detail and then just point people here when they ask about it.
So there are two questions I've been asked a bunch of times:
1. Will I be adding more chapters?
The immediate, practical, relevant-to-the-current-future-of-the-story answer is No. I don't have any outstanding plans to add any more chapters, and as such am going to be listing the story as being on hiatus.
HOWEVER, the long term answer to the question is more complicated. While I don't have any plans at the moment to add anything, if I come up with any usable ideas in the future, I'll totally put them in. It's just that at the moment I don't feel like I have much to add to the story, and I'm not going to dilute the thing by trying to force it and shitting out lousy chapters. There are several main reasons that I'm putting the story on hiatus:
1. The story has always been just as much about spoofing the writing style as the subject matter, and I'm basically running out of cliched writing style to make fun of. My main goal wasn't just to parody weird fetish fics, but to try to match stereotypical writing styles to the characters (Rarity writing purple prose, RD sucking at formatting, etc.), and there's only so much I can do with that. I know there are indeed other styles out there, but I get the feeling that in another chapter or two I'd start repeating myself, and I'd rather not do that.
2. The other important aspect of the story is Twilight's reactions to the fics, and it's getting to the point where I can't really escalate her reactions any further. Her parts of the story are going to start feeling more and more similar, and therefore less interesting, and I can't really write more until I figure out a way around that.
3. As much as I've enjoyed writing the story, I'd kinda rather move on to trying something else rather than force myself to keep writing this out of a sense of obligation. I've spent a lot of time on this story, and I'd like to get to work on some other ideas that I have.
TL;DR I'm not abandoning the story or anything, I just don't have plans to continue it in the immediate future. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean "Proofread Clopfics Sucks"-related material is going to stop. See question #2:
2. Will I be writing scenes where Twilight discusses the stories with the authors?
The answer to this is probably yes. I haven't started working on it yet, but I'm definitely brainstorming how I want to go about writing these scenes. I haven't decided whether to write it as additional PCS chapters, or if I want to make it a spinoff, but I do plan on writing it. So yeah, I'm probably going to focus on that rather than on updating PCS.
So yeah, that's basically the status of the story as of now. Obviously, you're welcome to make suggestions and if you give me a good idea, I might very well update it. But as of now, I'm not planning to.
Well, that's all well and good, but will we be getting more of your funderful futa fics?

I've got a question; did you write this from experience (inept clopfic authors solicited your services as a proofreader)?
1221824 Nope. I've actually never had to proofread a clopfic. I've proofread non-clop works, but this is mostly a case of just spoofing lousy writing I've come across.
