    A teaser

The supplies were still not coming in the required quantities, and while the replenishment issue had been an issue since Cordon had begun, it had never been this bad.

In his entire military career, at a corps level, Major General Clement McAuliffe had never seen a supply situation as bad as it was now.

So is Don't Mine at Night gone forever? Or...

Don't Mine At Night by JanAnimations was one helluva video. And, of course, hypocrite Hasbro decides to pull the plug on the whole thing. I do have one question though.

Is there anyplace that the original video is still up? Or a place that it could be downloaded from? Anyplace that the video is still viewable from?

I have to put this here because of all the errors posting it as a comment (Attempted response to Chatoyance's Ten Rounds: The Aftermath)

This was supposed to be written as a comment, but the site got huffy and kept giving me errors. Whether commenting is disabled, I have no idea.

    Pacific Rim story?

I saw Pacific Rim today, and it was well worth the hype. There was obnoxious amounts of epic Jaeger-Kaiju combat, and Idris Elba played a spectacular Stacker Pentecost. Pacific Rim story? · 2:24am Jul 13th, 2013

I saw Pacific Rim today, and it was well worth the hype. There was obnoxious amounts of epic Jaeger-Kaiju combat, and Idris Elba played a spectacular Stacker Pentecost. The whole move just reeked of huge combat sequences and some humanity behind the characters. (Especially Charlie Day and Burn Gorman; they played some awesome Dr Geiszler and Gottliebs) I'd do a more in-depth review, but that isn't the point of this blog post.

I'm fairly interested in attempting a Pacific Rim/FiM crossover, and I've already got a bunch of ideas together on how to fill the plot holes properly and attempt to have a realistic, plot, details, and reactions. The whole dimensional transfer is all there; I just need to figure out how to flesh the rest of the story out.

I might as well give you an idea of where it's going so far:

It takes place not too long after the movie ends (In terms of months). The Kaiju Wall has been decomissioned following the breach at Sydney, unrest over it's effectiveness, and the closing of the Breach. A number of Jaegers are under construction as a result of their effectiveness at Hong Kong and the Breach, though many expect them to be mothballed; the Breach has remained closed, and there have been no Kaiju attacks since the Battle of Hong Kong. Nevertheless, the Jaegers are seen as saviors, and the air of victory is still over the world. Raleigh, Mori, Geiszler, Gottlieb, and the rest are slowly adjusting to victory. Gipsy Danger's arm's remains have been recovered and sit in a museum in Sydney. Crimson Typhoon is slowly being rebuilt, but it's future is uncertain; no triplets have shown Drift compatibility high enough to reliably pilot it.

Gipsy Danger's reactor's detonation caused a cataclysmic event on the alien world. The close proximity of it's miniature, pressurized star (I still don't know what the big orange thing in the background in the end was) to the explosion caused a small supernova that wiped out most of their race and the Kaiju still there. Any survivors do not last long. (I know I took some creative license with this.)

Through yet-to-be determined means (most likely dimensional spasms/momentary tears/destabilizations from a combination of having an open dimensional portal during a supernova), a few Kaiju (number/category TBD) made it through to the MLP-verse, and lurk somewhere in the ocean, lacking orders and Jaegers to fight. Though they may fight semi-intelligently against Jaegers, they don't recognize/care about the difference between human/pony/MLP-verse creature cities, and assault them with the same ferocity that they did on Earth. Naturally, the MLP-verse creatures fare far worse than the humans ever did, and only a few Kaiju are damaged/slain, often with extreme measures. Things look very, very bad.

To everyone's surprise (or not surprise, depending on the person), the Breach reactivates, but closes almost immediately after. Naturally, this sends everyone into a tizzy, and Jaeger construction is accelerated. Every gun on Earth is pointed at the Pacific. The Breach continues to open/close spontaneously, as if broken (the dimensional destabilization at work), and eventually, probes are sent through. Deducing what is happening, humanity disarms, but Jaegers are still under production, and probes continuously take data on the alien world. As predicted, a probe gets caught in a dimensional tear, and before being annihilated by the closing event horizon, manages to reveal the Kaiju in another dimension. It does not reveal the fact that it is in the MLP-verse Planning on finishing the job, humanity arms itself, and preps for an intervention, not expecting contact with ponies.

I'm also tossing around the idea of having Pentecost and Chuck Hansen survive, though I'm not sure where I'd go from there. I figure, if the Breach is an atomic portal, then the detonation of a nuclear weapon in close proximity to it might have created a momentary, secondary Breach, that sucked them and the other Category 4 in instead of it being pure explosive force. I don't care that the Category 5 was tough; it shouldn't have survived a close nuclear blast. If some of the energy went into making a quick Breach instead of being all explosive force, it explains how the Category 5 survived. It fills a plot hole, but the whole idea sounds a bit Deus ex Machina to me. It's status is TBD.

Well, I know I took a lot of creative license in the plot, and the story will disregard any Pacific Rim sequels, but I'd be really pumped to do this as my first story ever.

Ideas? Thoughts? Comments? Concerns? Declarations of suckishness? Send them, please. All of it is TBD at the moment, but your criticisms are well appreciated! And be tough; if you guys just say it's awesome, then I don't know what to improve on. I need criticism; it'll make a better story for you guys to read!

I'll be looking for pre-readers closer to my decision.

Thanks, guys! Opinions are welcome! It's a big project to take as a first-time author, but with your help, I can produce an amazing story!

And on a different note: del Toro kicked Michael Bay's ass with this movie.
