I did it with a mouse for a good friend, he's TallestBrony on FimFiction. It took a looong time (my hands constantly cramped-up). And since my computer = crap, the many layers began to lag the image. All around, it was a pain.
But it paid off in the end, I guess (my friend was happy with it)! 
... Especially for my first attempt at PC art. Also, if you're wondering how I got the 'spacy' effects in the background, I used PicMonkey (basically Picnik, made by past Picnik workers for us to enjoy the awesomeness again {Picnik left us for crappy Google Plus}).
