    Episode Re-Review: The Mean Six

First and foremost, I want to briefly mention that my account for paid commisssions is up and running. It's CSPB2024. If you could all help spread the word about it, that would be appreciated. Now it's on to the episode proper, though I do briefly want to touch on the controversy surrounding the rumor about A.I. voices for "Make Your Mark" and "Tell Your Tale" that were recently debunked. It's

    Happy Birthday, Andrew Francis

Today is Andrew Francis' birthday. Fittingly, with today being Memorial Day, he is the voice of Shining Armor from the character's debut until his final on-screen appearance in Season 9. He was also the voice of Night Light for the character's first (and brief) speaking appearance in "The Crystalling, Part 2", and was the voice of a couple of other characters, including at least one royal guard.

Episode Re-Review: Marks for Effort (And Important Update!)

Before we get into the re-review, I have some important and unfortunate news to share with you all. Don't worry, I'm not leaving this site or deactivating my account if that's what you're thinking. Despite not having any new pony content to indulge on given that "Tell Your Tale" seems to have no interest in building on anything from "Make Your Mark" (Allura and Twitch have done nothing of

    Happy Birthday, Kelly Sheridan

Today is Kelly Sheridan's birthday. She is the talented woman who voiced Starlight Glimmer from Seasons 5 through 9, and was also the voice of characters such as Sassy Saddles, Misty Fly, and Vapor Trail's mother. She has also been the voice of Barbie in several direct to home media movies, Scarlet Witch in X-Men: Evolution, and many other roles.

Well you know the drill right? It's time to see who made the cut and who didn't.

10. Raindrops
Kind of scrapping the barrel on this one but Raindrops is the Lunaverse Element of Honesty so apparently she's popular to some people. I haven't read any Lunaverse stories yet though and I don't know if I ever will.

9. Roid Rage a.k.a Snowflake
This macho body builder has tiny wings but he doesn't let that stop him. He's large and in charge and he deals with problems head on. And yes his "YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAH!" line has been used for CSI Mimai jokes.

8. Thunderlane
Thunderlane has become popular as a result of the scene of him and Rarity hugging in "Wonderbolt Academy", looks like Spike has yet another rival on his hands. Kind of feel sorry for Thunderlane if that's true because it looks like he's got enough on his plate to deal with as it is.

7. Rumble
He's just so cute and his brother Thunderlane is probably the best big brother you could ever ask for. He's been shipped with some of the CMC and I've seen a fan comic on YouTube featuring him and Apple Bloom that melts my heart. It's a Valentine's Day sort of comic and if you can find it I'm sure you'll like it. And who knows maybe he'll start to be shipped with the CMC even more after "Don't Mine At Night" gets animated and Sweetie BellexButton Mash ship fics take off.

6. Soarin
This messy eater is a pretty skillful Wonderbolt and I'd love to see his more serious side in the next season. Perhaps in another Wonderbolt Boot Camp episode, and potentially make him a crush for Rainbow Dash. But of course I can't ignore the fan comic (which has since been animated) "Betrayal of Trust" in which Soarin gets jealous when he sees Spitfire flying with Rainbow Dash. It's my personal head cannon that he's the youngest Wonderbolt and that he and Spitfire are childhood friends. I also like to think that he's overprotective of Spitfire and is constantly looking out for her. Oh and Soarin's been shipped with Twilight a few times, it's surprisingly more common then you'd think.

5. Spitfire
Even though she was bit bossy in "Wonderbolt Academy" I still like her. Her laid back and easy going personality when she's not running the Wonderbolt Academy is impressive and it's obvious she didn't get to be Captain of The Wonderbolts for no reason. Plus I like her in her Academy outfit more then her Wonderbolt costume or what fans assume she looks like without it. Besides the way she acted in "Woderbolt Academy" gave us some more "Full Metal Jacket" references and "Deal With It" gifs. And before you ask yes she's been shipped with ponies other then Soarin or Rainbow Dash.

4. Derpy
I can hear all you Derpy fans hating on me already. Well if you've seen my "Top Ten Earth Ponies" and "Top Ten Unicorns" list you'll know that background ponies have not taken the top spot. So even if I wanted to I couldn't put Derpy at number 1. Be thankful I rank her so high or that she's even on the list at all. If you want to make another list with her on top then do so but please don't hate me for stating my opinion. That being said I love Derpy very much, mostly because of how BaldDumboRat voices her. If I could I would gladly pay money to make him voice Derpy in all subseuqent appearances. The fandom has done so many wonderful things with her, and I don't care what those soccer moms said, she never was and never will be a sterotype of the mentally disabled. She came into existence through an animation error and we gave her a personality, we gave her support, we believed she was real. And no matter what you say or do you'll never remove her from our hearts.

3. Scootaloo
Even though she's my least favorite CMC she has a lot going for her. Her biggest problem is that every time she appears on screen she always seems to be saying something about Rainbow Dash. This might have been fine at first but it's starting to get old. And I'm tired of all those fics that paint her as an orphan or have her abused. Scootalove is better then Scootabuse and I'm hoping the writers have big plans for her in Season 4 that will finally allow her to become her own character and not simply Rainbow Dash's number 1 fan. Yes there's nothing wrong with having an idol but no child ever completly builds their life around their idols and the same holds true for adults. I consider Lincoln my idol and you don't see my trying to build my life around him.

2. Rainbow Dash
This was probably the hardest decision to make. Deciding whether Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy should be ranked number 1. No matter what I said or did I couldn't please everyone. So I'll just remind you that this list is unoffical and is my opinion alone. Okay now that we have that out of the way I will first say that Rainbow Dash has started to grow on me as a result of "Sleepless in Ponyville" and "Wonderbolt Academy". Those episodes really made up for the bad writing that plagued Rainbow Dash in Season 2 but even before Rainbow Dash to me seems to struggle the most with her Element of Harmony and there are times that make me question if she's being truely loyal. Thankfully I'm willing to bet this streak of good writing for her will continue in Season 4.

(Okay it's recap time. 10. Raindrops, 9. Roid Rage a.k.a Snowflake, 8. Thunderlane, 7. Rumble, 6. Soarin, 5. Spitfire, 4. Derpy, 3. Scootaloo, and 2. Rainbow Dash)

1. Fluttershy
Fluttershy may be ranked higher then Rainbow Dash but not because of her cuteness. She's kind and willing to give others the benefit of the doubt. She's also willing to face her fears if her friends are in danger and although her Element of Harmony might be the very fitting kindness she could easily pass for the Element of Bravery. She's also really good with animals and after some practice with little kids making her an ideal babysitter. The only problem I have with her is her tendency to back pedal from her important morals of learning to stand up for herself and I really liked the way she was written in "Spike at Your Service" and "Keep Calm and Flutter On". She offered her opinion without fear of what others might think and did things her own way. But she also proved she's not a pushover and even she has limits. I just hope that in Season 4 we'll see more of what she wants to do with her special talent with animals.

And there you have it. Now I can't really do alicorns since all the ones so far are Princesses and I've already ranked them.

In the immortal words of the number one pegasi.... Yay!

I cannot recommend the Lunaverse highly enough. The idea of an episodic MLP fanfic series is highly interesting, and RainbowDoubleDash makes it work incredibly well. I never appreciated Trixie until I read the Lunaverse, and now, Lunaverse Trixie is the definitive Trixie for me. It's just a wonderful world that manages to explore deeper themes than the show can, while never going 'dark' like, for example. Fallout Equestria. You should at least read the pilot episode, Longest Night, Longest Day. :)
