That's the premise behind Ponified Without Consent, a collab between names behind fics like Asylum, Puppet to her fame, Believing Stories, and the Warm Diary of Twilight Sparkle (oh yeah and some guy who wrote some thing called For A New Dawn).
So, if you liked any of those above mentioned fics...this is nothing like that. 
Instead, Ponfied without consent features the misadventures of five humans sent to Equestria who really should never have been let in. Ridiculous hilarity ensues as we are tormented by the overly perfect nature of the canon world and it's contradiction of our individual vices.
The story aims to poke fun at HiE tropes by completely countering the usual wish fufillment cliche. I highly recommend it and you can totally trust me even though I wrote part of it.

I hope you don't get too much hate. To be honest I don't really like Aslyum (no offense) but I can understand wanting to make others laugh. I do like HIE stories and ponied ones and serious tales. But its when we as writers take things too seriously that it starts to get.... dumb lol. Which is where the hate might flow in from others on your story, I sure hope you don't get any because it, so far, is really creative.
Now if only the game industry can start taking a break from seriousness every once in a while...

Ehhh, well maybe I put forth the wrong image. What we aimed for was to satirically point out the bad cliche's of HiE. Besides, if we get hate that will just make my day.
NO I know that is what you are doing which is fine. So many HIE stores start out like this:
1. Wake up OMG IM A PONY OR HUMAN NOT IN MY WORLD!
2. MAKE FRIENDS
3. RARITY MAKES ME CLOTHES AND PINKIE PARTY!
4. TWILIGHT STUDIES ME AND I MEET THE LEADER OF A NATION!

It gets old lol. But some people might confuse teaching others how to write a good HIE fic and teh humor for hate which will get you hate in return sadly... at least I think you are trying to help others write a good fic and have fun at the same time? 1161663

To make some things clear here, cause if it were to really happen then I assure you it would most likely suck and here is why:
For once you would most likely get bored, hence no INTERNET or TV and end up just watching ponies walking by and talking about stuff (which will probably creep them out). The time period between the events that happen in the show could be quite huge... as in moths.. so yeah.. no adventures for you anytime soon.
Since you won't have any money and etc you will end up as a hobopony (that is if you are lucky enough to be given a pony body else there are high chances you will be an outcast, remember Zecora?) Also who says you get to go in the time period in which the mane 6 lived? I tell you this, you're not that lucky.
The only good thing that could come out of this whole ordeal is if by some miracle you managed to learn "the ways" of magic (that is if you get to be an unicorn and don't kill yourself in the process).

1163957 Yup, I read it and I think it got potential, it still hasn't reached to any part that I would consider relevant but for now I consider that the situation in which they are to be hilarious. If I had one thing to criticize that would be that the protagonists were a bit too whiny.
Since Decay hasn't responded yet, I was wondering if you would.
Is this story closed to only you five? I'm just curious, because personally, I'd love to join in on this.

If you haven't already gotten a response by now, yes it is closed to us five. This collab is actually too big as is and we all feel this way. In fact, the oversize of the project has actually caused a lot of serious problems and we all know each other very well, whereas we don't really know the new volunteers. We've gotten a lot of offers from people to join, which is nice, but we definitely don't want to expand the roster and cause more chaos, particularly with authors we're not familiar with at this moment, sorry.
Maybe in the future when the project gets wrapped up we'll look at doing offshoots of the ponified-verse with other people.
