    Where I've Been

So, I've been taking writing really seriously over the past year. I got 15,000 words out of NaNoWriMo; not bad for a busy month running science festivals. I finished the manuscript in June, sold my retro game systems the funds for self-publishing e-books, and joined a forum thread on one of my boards to write 500 words a night. I was feeling pretty good, especially considering I'm finally a

So, working on the next chapter. No one reading the last one got the hints about the new kid, who is the story's main kid. I'll give these out, and the first person (and maybe a few others) who get it right will earn a small OC cameo in HHH.

Now, the kid's an OC...but the mother is not.

Here are the first few hints.

    Hooves Holding Hearts Edit

So, I changed a scene in chapter four. I changed it because it didn't work, and others complained with a reasonable point.

It happens near the end of the chapter.

    Spoilers ahead.

    I mean, really spoilers.

If you haven;t read the chapter, it kind of ruins the punch to know this...

    Ready.

So, when John is confronting the father....

    What the pre-readers are saying...

Just so you know, here's some comments on the Hooves Holding Hearts chapter that drops this week.

"She had a really miserable childhood, didn't she?"

"Holy freaking s***! Nevermind Jazz, you are not worst parent anymore!"

"This is both heartwarming and utterly heartbreaking at the same time. You magnificent bastard."

    Story Progress!

Chapter four of Hooves Holding Hearts is off to the pre-readers! I'm going to try to get a C&D chapter done next, I think. I'm having to split time between pony writing and writing things I actually intend to e-publish for money, but I intend to finish the crop of stories I have, maybe saving a week in summer to write "Doctor Whooves and the Mare in the Moon."

Well, I just finished the first chapter of the Lyra and Bon-Bon story. Time to give her the post-Choices story that Cheerilee and Ditzy got. I'll find some willing volunteer editors, and I'm seeing my artist in five hours for Equestria Girls, so I'll try to commission some art then. I might also try to catch World War Z or Man of Steel, and see two or three films where source material I adore MIGHT me mercilessly trod upon in one day. I say might, because I'm trying to keep an open mind for all three. I could use the entertainment, even if it's sarcastic bouts of nerd rage in the parking lot.

Why am I pony writing at five in the morning? Mainly because my Mom's in the hospital with kidney failure at the moment, sleep is not coming, and there's nothing I can do. I might write quite a bit next week. It helps me keep my mind distracted.

I wrote a lot, while the old Matriarch, my grandmother, was in the hospital.

I used pony writing kind of as an escape from death. I wrote a dark, experimental ShiningCadance story and revised Levee with Cold in Gardez's help in the waiting room when she was asleep (I couldn't stay if I fell asleep I snore so loud I could wake the dead and am afraid of blood).

I thought World War Z was different from the book and strangely brilliant.

I have no words that can comfort, only that I pray she comes out alright.

I wish I could say something to ease your worries, I do, but stay strong and be positive. I'm sure she'll pull through.

I wish there was something I could say, but that's all I can do from here. I'll keep wishing for the best.

Oh wow, I hope your mom pulls through.

Sorry about you mom. :ajsleepy: I hope she pulls through. :fluttershysad:

If your looking for editors, I am available, and have made the upgrade to full blown pre-reader as well, if you need one.

Thoughts and prayers, my friend.

Oh, I know how you feel. My dad was in the hospital last December from a heart attack. I hope she get's better.

It's all we got, but if they help, you can have ALL of them.

Best wishes to you and your mother, having close family in the hospital is pretty rough :fluttercry:
