As only one of you knows, I've been spending an enormous amount of time rewriting EC. Quite frankly, as it was it sucked.
But of course I will not leave it at that. I will take every opportunity to elaborate, simplify, uncover, analyze, complicate, and pontificate about these changes. I cannot, of course, straight-up say that all of it sucks. There were quite a few things that were good, but there were many, many more things that I, as soon as I realized that I had indeed written them, became aghast at.
I mean, seriously. How could anybody have stood to read some of that stuff? It was just so... ugh. So many things I didn't do and needed to, so many things I did do and did poorly, so many things I shouldn't have done at all.
Needless to say, it took me some time to gain perspective and learn many things about writing. As I apply those lessons to my previous writings (yes, my other fictions will get rewrites, as will the collaboration) I find it to be taking an extreme amount of time, resulting in the situation that I will probably not be publishing anything "new" for quite some time. I also promise that I won't delete this post in a fit of rage and irritation like I have all of my others. Maybe. Don't count on it. I don't pretend that anyone cares about a blog post.
