It's not Dead Yet · 9:13am Jun 2nd, 2013

Hello, readers! I realize that I've been silent for quite a while on the writing front, and I'm sorry to leave you all in the dark. I'd like to say that my story is still not dead. I'm still writing Tastes Like Heresy, as well as laying groundwork for the upcoming sequel, Desert Spice. I like to make sure I've done my homework, after all, so I'm going to be giving you all a nice, well-developed Pegasus/Camel desert nomad society that's based firmly on Arab, Egyptian, and Greek cultures.

Ok, I might not put so much work into the Greek part.

Besides the sequel's ground plans, I've been working on the next chapter of Tastes Like Heresy. This chapter's pretty much going to be its conclusion (aside from the short epilogue), and it's going to be a doozie. Amber Spice is finally going to get her plot banished to the Pegasopian Desert. Before that, though, she still has some stuff to royally screw up.

For those of you who were curious as to what the great trans-dimensional fried food she invented was, here's a snippet from the upcoming chapter:

You are about to behold the instrument of my destruction. It was of my own make, and it was delicious.

I present to you the ultimate fruit of my recent labors, and maybe even my crowning achievement as a chef. A pastry fluffy enough to rival my own coat, sweet enough to put a bee into a diabetic coma, and so light that it shall rise with me to take Unicornia by storm when I return from exile. Behold: the honey-glazed donut! All shall love them and despair!

I'm looking forward to finishing this chapter and this story. Not that I don't like writing it, because I love just about every minute of it.

P.s. When I get to posting the new chapter once it's done, I'll also be taking a pass through my story to remove unnecessary onomatopoeia so that I don't dilute the good stuff's effectiveness.
