Distant Words: Shards of Harmony - Home Sweet Home Part 3 (+ Summary) · 12:25am May 30th, 2013
It took about a day of waiting, but one of my faved fics finally updated, let's get this review underway!
The fic I am reviewing for you all today, is Distant Worlds: Shards of Harmony, a story with the Romance, Comedy, Crossover, Alternate Universe, Adventure, and Human tags.
The fic in question can be found here.
My summary until this point:
The fic revolves around a center plot, weird void-like portals have been appearing on Earth and on Equestria, replacing people with ponies and causing all sorts of chaos, the main story follows the main character of the story (Of course) named Mark, who after following a voice calling for help, finds Princess Luna, investigating into the weird portals. After saving Luna (And suffering many injuries), Mark was turned into a pony, as to heal his wounds.
Not just any pony either, he was turned into a Unicorn Mare.
From there on out, the plot revolves around finding the human Elements of Harmony, while following the (Mis)adventures of "Silent Passion" has Mark has now called himself/herself (Choose appropriate) and other humans-turned-ponies that are met along the way alongside other ponies caught up in these misadventures (*COUGHBigMacCOUGH*)
The chapter I am reviewing for this fic at the moment, is Home Sweet Home Part 3: The Sorcery of Solaire and Nightmare Moon.
In this chapter, there is YuGiOh dueling.
I shit you not, this is how the chapter begins, and it is fucking hardcore.
The YuGiOh dueling lasts for most of the chapter, and afterwards, there is a slight bit of dialogue involving Luna (Turned Nightmare Moon I believe) and a thug, this dialogue, is in place because Luna is busy breaking the thugs body, AKA snapping ribs and what not.
The reason for this, is because Luna had history with these thugs, history involving the ruination of lives, and Luna torturing them because of it. The good thing is, the torturing was done in a dream state, so it was only mental torture, which is good, because I don't think Luna would be that gruesome in any form of physical torture, and the fact that the torture was indeed in dream state, makes much more sense.
That is really all I could get out of this chapter, due to it being mostly YuGiOh and a little bit of dialogue, so I'll leave you with my favourite highlight of the chapter:
*The Very ending, (DreamState)*
The thug was screaming louder than ever...until there was nothing but silence, with a dull thud the unconscious body fell on the ground...
“Sweet dreams...” Luna chuckled to herself, turning towards the two figures in front of here she began casting a spell to rouse them from their state of sleep.
