First off, thank you, all 600+ of you, for deciding to Watch me. It's so great to know I've got so many people who like my works!
My next fiction, Desire and Deep Water, featuring you and Twilight Sparkle, is nearing completion! It’s a nice little story involving you, an Earth Pony who looks after Ponyville Lake, and Twilight. It’s a little longer than Her Whole Darn Heart, but it just as engaging character-wise, even if there’s no (featured) humans in Desire and Deep Water. However, it’s gonna to be hotter, wetter and better than ever before!
But there’s something I feel I have to say first: this fic may contain scenes that may cause unease to come readers. And no, I’m not talking about the sensual scene. Well, kinda.
There are going to be scenes in this fic where both you and Twilight remain… submerged in the lake, which is something of a main focus in the story, for an undesirable amount of time. I know scenes like that could disturb readers, so I feel it’s best to get that off my chest now.
I’m saying that again: If you don’t like seeing your ponies in distress underwater, or if near-drowning scenes freak you out, you may wish to give this fic a miss. I’ll understand because, like almost everything I write, I know it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea when it comes to sitting down and reading a sensual fiction.
I mean seriously, I’m looking over the fic right now and it’s… like… whoa man. But I’m not going to change anything, because it just… feels right for the story. I can’t give it a “gore” tag to deter sensitive readers either, because there's no actual gore, and I don't want to get in trouble with mods for mis-tagging… I can’t change something great just for the sake of conformity, yet I fear this next story could get some serious controversy… but then again, I thought the same for writing Her Whole Darn Heart, and that one became my most successful fic yet! That’s why I don’t want to make changes to it! You see the dilemma!
Man, this is making me uneasy. I don’t want you guys to dislike me for writing a potentially risky scene, yet I don’t want to lower myself into caving in for the sake of popularity.
So I won’t.
TL;DR: New fic is coming soon. There’s gonna be a drowning scene in this fic, I’m labelling it Mature just to be safe (oh, that and the sensual scene itself), if you’re freaked out by those kind of scenes just give it a miss. If you don’t mind, feel free to read it once it comes out - it’s gonna be truly heart-pounding.

Well... However odd it may be, loyalty is loyalty, and read it I shall. Besides, I've read far too much Dark and Gore fics to be disturbed by drowning... That's bad, right?

The whole point of a sensual fiction is to feel the emotions, correct? I for one can't wait to experience the fear!
I'd say, don't be afraid of controversy, but don't make it your main selling point either.
There's a reason the mainstay is what it is.
That said, carry on.
If it is as you say "right" for the fic then I see no problem, better to stick with what you believe than make a change and ruin the flow

I admire you, Crowley. You've taken a stand, and you're not changing the story for your readers. That is what I call a "professional" writer.

Crowley is the gift that keeps on giving. You are one of three authors that make the 2nd person fic thing work really well. Each nameless character has tons of personality. As for the scene in the fic where Twilight almost drowns, while it maybe unpleasant for some readers as long there is a that trademark happy ending, I don't see the issue. Then again there are fewer things scarier than drowning, besides burning or being eaten alive by bears or having your face ripped off by a chimpanzee or fixing a clogged garbage disposal and the damn thing turning on as your hand in still inside.

To be honest I'm not 100% certain I understand what all the fuss and worry is as I'm not one to be disturbed by much of anything. Still I am absolutely certain that I look forward to this story.

Heh, you shouldn't really worry, mate. I mean, just a little warning is good enough. Something along the lines of "If you have a fear of drowning, then this fic might not be for you" would suffice. The only reason why I went overboard on trying to explain clover in Purple Haze is because drugs are a touchy subject. Hell, I had people dislike it right off the bat just because they found out it had something to do with drugs. But extended periods underwater? Doubt that's going to get under anyone's skin.
Anyway, I look forward to what you have in store. I'm sure it'll be another grand slam. :3

Last April, I posted a 3,000 word version of it, since I had only just started writing back then. This year, I've completely remade it, and it's a whopping 13,000 words! Nice to know some folks remember the old version though...
I'm looking forward to read the story. Honestly, I personally don't mind scenes in which characters nearly drown, as long as they make it safe to the surface again, it's a nice shock moment.
