Visionary:Review

The story Visionary takes place in a unique parallel universe to MLP:FIM. The story starts off some time after the Canterlot Royal Wedding in the homeland of the changelings. From here the Author shows the changelings run a monarchy governed by a king or queen chosen by the people and kept in check by a high councle, the noble houses, and the people themselves. In showing this aspect of changeling society he then goes further into explaining why Queen Chrysalis was able to keep her throne through cruel manipulation and overwhelming greed, is for at the heart of changeling nature is greed. After Chrysalis failed to take over Equestria she was removed from her throne and the council decides the history of changelings wishing to rule over all has led their people to ruin. In hopes they search for a changeling who would lead them to unity with the other races. In the end they find Aurus Marz, a young changeling who views reflect honest hard work who thinks openly earned love is better for their people then love received through dishonest means. From here the Story follows Aurus through his first few days in his new found predicament of leading the changelings. Aurus quickly heads out to earn back respect for his people starting with Equestria. Plans and preperations for his trip are quickly made before leaving on a path dropping him off in the Ever Free Forest to set up shelter. With Aurus on his quest the story takes a step back to the nation he calls home to set the stories villain on his way.
Now my views on the main cast. Aurus Marz Is an honest and carefree yet hard working male changeling, with a deep determination to keep his friends loved ones safe. His carefree manor does get him into some interesting moments from fun to dark. As the main protaginist of the story Aurus has many trials he must overcome from being able to simply walk into town, to the final and shocking climax of the story. Over the course of the story Aurus's powers grow and become more refined through special training from Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna to name a few. At the end Aurus has become what the more unkind or dense would judge as "Gary Stu" or in other words, A character that is to powerful and likeable for his role. I personally disagree with that lable and judge Aurus as Gary Stu done right. And f or those who are asking what the difference is, that is simple. Through proper Character development an author can honestly make a character as strong as Celestia, Discord, or any other beyond powerful character.
The Main Six are the main support for Aurus once he starts his quest by trying to make friends with Ponyville before approaching Canterlot. Out of the Main Six the story focus on Twilight sparkle as Aurus "Parole Officer" for lack of a better term then later becomes his friend and first Magical teacher.
And AppleJack as the love intrest and rock for Aurus.
Queen Chrysalis starts out a husk of the queen she once was. Barely able to stay alive she escapes from the prison she is kept in and makes her way with help out of The Changeling Nation and into the outskirts of Equestria. After a short few days in Equestria she is taken to Canterlot castle to aid in training Aurus in magic specificly known only to the King and Queens of The Changeling Nation.
