Mother's Day - US · 9:22am May 12th, 2013
Happy Mother's Day from the States! (Specifically California [aka Coltifornia in TWP], but who is counting?)
As stated last week, I am a little ahead in some of my writing, but sadly don't have anything for you to enjoy without breaking continuity. One of the chapters is a very nice Twilight Velvet chapter that would have been perfect for today. T_T BUT! I do have something I can share. No, it is not the original G Doc I wrote the chapter in. That would just be silly. (Though, you can read it by now if you know where to look.) Instead, I will share the bonus/deleted scene from that chapter since it also relates to this holiday. (Though calling it a holiday is a bit of a stretch, no offense to any mothers out there. Seriously, if you are not celebrated every day for being the cause of all the humans in the world [because it is the woman having the child, not the man], then something is seriously wrong.) Anyway! Enjoy the scene! (It isn't edited yet and shouldn't be for a while, so forgive any spelling and grammar mistakes that are common on early drafts/blog posts.)
From: TWP Chapter 93 - For the Ages
James and Twilight sit at the kitchen table filling out paperwork. Del sits beside them, watching with great excitement. Twilight signs a document. James slides it and several others into an envelope and seals it. Del squeals and hugs Twilight. The princess laughs and hugs the changeling in return.
‘It isn’t official yet,’ Twilight states. ‘But I am sure everything will work out.’
Del coos. ‘I don’t care how long it takes. Thank you, mommy.’
James laughs. ‘Get used to hearing that.’
‘I think I will,’ Twilight replies. ‘It will be good practice for when we have foals of our own.’
The stallion freezes. ‘Our own?’ He smiles. ‘I look forward to that too.’
Del laughs and rubs her head in Twilight’s chest fluff. ‘I want a brother. A real handsome and smart brother who will love me and Rei and be the best brother ever.’
Twilight laughs. ‘Well, genetics don’t work exactly that way, but we do have a history of good brothers in my family.’
‘Mine got married, and I never saw him again,’ James says.
‘You had a brother?!’ Twilight gapes.
The stallions’ eyes dart. ‘I mean. What family? I never had a family until Rei.’
Del pokes Twilight’s muzzle with her horn. ‘He makes good brothers too. Rei talks about Apple and Helo all the time. But I know you two together will make Del the best brother ever!’ The adults laugh and hug the changeling. ‘But I want daddy and Pinkie to make me a sister. She’d be the best at that.’
The adults freeze, blush and look at the calm changeling as she nuzzles her future stepmother.
Yep! That is a thing. (Not surprising since it comes up in The Master Game and will be part of the focus of chapter 97 in TWP.)
Also, I ran a Mother's Day-themed week on Ask TWP this past week. Check after 10AM PST for the best results. If you haven't gotten to The Master Game yet, then the pics contain spoilers. If you have, then there are no spoilers. Also, having read The Physicist's Wife Arc is needed for the first pic (lowest following that link).
Going to forgo the request for music this post (though by saying I am not mentioning it is the same as mentioning it) since I should be starting the first scene or two of it soon. I've had a bit of a bad block these past few days, and even got pretty down on the character of TWP. One point, I even went back and reread all the lovely comments left since I started posting. You are all so sweet for everything you have said and potentially will say (knowing at least one person will comment on something I will post in TWP's finale).
